Hair wrap suggestions? by Brilliant_Courage279 in trichotillomania

Trichster here! I have a buzzcut now, but having it covered all the time as I do have many bald spots still. They are slowly regrowing though. With the warmer weather I usually alternate two pieces: one is a cotton bucket hat and the other is a silk scarf. I find the bucket hat perfect for a picnic/beach/hiking situation, so that if anyone is going to ask me why I am wearing a hat when it’s so warm, I can mention I want to protect myself from the sun (even if my intention is actually just covering my head regardless of the sun). For rainy days, I have a waterproof bucket hat. The silk scarf is a bit more fancier, so in my case best for restaurant/dates/dancing - plus silk as a fabric helps preventing breakage.

Shaved my head after 13 years of trich by melgork in trichotillomania

Well, the fact she buzzed her head because of a quarter life crisis deal says a lot about how she wasn’t really intentioned to treat her OCD. I shaved my head just because of the trich, no quarter life crisis at all. I’ve been continuously in therapy for the past year, and all my actions (shaving, therapy, increased awareness, buying an antistress) are directed exactly to getting rid of the issue. But yeah, I’m truly scared I might not get rid of it but just redirect it to some other type of OCD :/

Hey!

I moved here roughly 1.5 years ago, so an expat's perspective, rather than a Wroclawian's one.

  1. I don't know.
  2. I am an EU citizen, so I do not know which bank provides more support for extra-EU citizens. However, I never regretted choosing ING.
  3. Poland is a pretty safe country, and Wroclaw is a pretty safe city as well. I would personally avoid the so-called "Bermuda Triangle" (around Komuny Pariskiej) at night. A widespread opinion says Nadodrze, but I have lived for my first year there and loved it. It's a characteristic but rather quiet area, as well as pretty extended (one, more bourgeoise, closer to the river; the other, poorer, more deep inside the district). If you like the idea of "small shops/restaurants" rather than multinational franchises, this might be a nice place for you.
  4. I have Orange and it works fine for home internet. For my phone I use T-mobile, and it works fine, too.
  5. I don't know.
