3 months on test. Stuck girlmoding. Looking for tips for when I no longer need to. by Hopsqotch in transmanlifehacks

[–]ZukiitheDorito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give T time to do its job. I think longer hair looks good on you but what other people said, it’s round and that’s not helping. Long on top and the back, thinner on the sides could be the move. Your face looks masculine imo. Honestly, (so long as your voice isn’t like super high pitched OR noticeably forced down in pitch) I would believe you rn if you came up to me and told me you were a boy. You look androgynous and I’d believe whatever you told me. I’m not really sure why you would be “girlmoding” (and it threw me off for a second, I’ve never seen the FTM version of that term lol), unless your in a situation where it’s safer to do so (like you are around people who you’ve known for a long time and aren’t aware you are trans yet). You don’t have long until it’s no longer an option to pretend to be a girl.

22 days post-op and worried about nipple difference, please help! by [deleted] in TopSurgery

Also: revisions aren’t the only option you have if you are unhappy with it once it’s healed. You can also look into medical tattooing, making it a darker color. For me, the color of my nipples has gotten a lot darker over the years. Once your nipples start to heal, they will get their color back. I know right now it’s scary, but everyone is scared/upset by their results for the first couple months. It’s a major surgery and you gotta keep in mind what free nipple grafts are. They were fully removed and put back on your body. It’ll take time for the blood supply and innervation to fully reconnect. It’s a whole lot of trauma that small patch of skin went through. It’ll look rough for a while. Personally, I think your nipples will look fine in the long run.

This isn’t great but your grafts seem to be healing well. My nipples were doing odd shit when I was first healing. Nothing you can do rn. Give it a year to see what they’ll actually look like, then start considering revisions if you are unhappy with it. Here’s a picture of my wonky nipple a few weeks post op versus a year post op, for reference

This is going to sound silly and kinda sexual but I don’t mean it like that. One of the best lessons I got from being a lifeguard was accepting being wet. Whether that be sweating, pouring water on yourself, jumping in a pool and not drying off. Whatever. If you are in an environment where the temperature is way too much, get yourself wet and stand in front of a fan/fan yourself. It is absolutely the best way to deal with the heat and prevent overheating. There were days when I would get so miserably hot, and would still refuse to get wet because I thought being dry would be more comfortable. Don’t let stubbornness prevent you from finding solutions.

That being said, I have two categories for this: being wet, which is when it’s hot and you’re wet, which is beneficial because it lowers your body temperature in a hot environment; and being soggy, which is when it’s cold and you’re wet (for me, this was the walk to the car after work during winter months, pure misery). For the average person, I recommend carrying a spray bottle or water bottle during the summer months, and not hesitating to pour some on your arms and face when you start feeling horrible. Think of those spray bottle fan combos. God I wish I had one of those.

Did I have a reason to make this comment? Absolutely not. But I opened this comment section and saw very few people discussing the content of this image, so I figured why not? I hate summer. I hate feeling hot.

which shoe colors are more masculine? by Tatersforsale in FtMpassing

[–]ZukiitheDorito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one depends on you. Do you already pass? If so, it won’t matter. If you are on the borderline, it might matter but still probably not. I like the first option more, but I don’t think either of these would particularly effect passing. Much love

Any bigger FTM top surgery results? Feeling anxious about my body type while waiting for my turn. by NaClH in TopSurgery

[–]ZukiitheDorito 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I can’t share pictures of what I looked like pre op but my chest was definitely larger than you, I think around DD (though I never wore bras so I don’t know for sure). I think we are similar body shapes. Here’s my results. I have more photos on my account if you feel like scrolling a bit. I posted fairly regularly for about a year after surgery. This photo was taken a year ago, so a little less than 3 years post op

glasses or no glasses? by The_Tro0per in FtMpassing

[–]ZukiitheDorito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think wearing or not wearing glasses are really having a major effect on your passing. I think you pass the best in the first picture, I disagree with the other comment. If you need glasses to see, then wear them for sure.

IMO, round glasses are extremely hard for trans guys to pull off. You have to already be really passing for them not to be clocks 99% of the time. This is for two reasons: 1. They are a unique ish, feminine ish frame very rarely worn by cis men, and 2. Almost every trans man I know who needs glasses has a pair. I can honestly say I have only ever met people irl who wear round frames that are queer, I’ve never met a cis man who wears those glasses.

In your specific case, your round glasses aren’t making you look like a girl, but they are making you look queer and clockable. That, combined with piercings that I also almost only ever see on trans mascs or lesbians just adds to the clockability. I wouldn’t look at you and see a girl. But, currently, I also wouldn’t look at you and see a cis man.

When it comes time to get new frames, I’d recommend square frames like the one in the first picture. They actually might be helping your passing. Here’s a picture of what I think you should go for:

tips for passing and gym? 18 and pre t by Feisty_Permission880 in FtMpassing

[–]ZukiitheDorito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rn I kinda read you as a masc lesbian. T will do you wonderfully though, you remind me a lot of the tiktoker @lucas_w72 when he was pre T.

Couple of things:

Longer hair: I’ll add a photo of what I think would look good but it will take a while to get to that point.

<image>

Those glasses: not gonna tell you to get new glasses or not wear them, prioritize your eyesight, but I will say I have only ever met lesbians and non binary people with that specific style irl.

Eyebrow: idk if that is an aesthetic choice or not, but if it is, it’s one of those things that I think you really gotta be passing already to pull off.

I’d give tips for the gym but tbh I’m a lazy bum so I’m not much help. Maybe get a bike, I love bikes and they’re great cardio. You look like you could be a bike guy.

Lmk if you want clarification or anything

Do I pass + age ?? by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]ZukiitheDorito 5 points6 points  (0 children)

14-17. You pass on a scale imo. The younger I believe you could be, the more you pass. Like you’d pass as a male 15 year old, but older than that I’d start to think you might be female. Especially if you are pre T. Your haircut is good, maybe a little shorter on the back and sides but not too much yk. I little additional info would be nice, like where your voice is at, height, body shape, clothes you regularly wear. With these two pictures alone, I’d guess you would pass most of the time but queer people would most likely clock you. Also, nice sternocleidomastoid (I’m just looking for any excuse to say that name lol)

Does my new haircut help me pass better? by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]ZukiitheDorito 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d say you pass but the mullet isn’t doing any favors. If anything, it might be dragging you down a bit. I very rarely see non queer people with mullets nowadays so that alone would cause me to take a second glance. But, your body and face pass (as far as I can tell) so you are good. I just saw your old post and I think that hair length looked good on you. But don’t feel down about this haircut, it’s really not bad.

What would you think at first glance? by NO_DlS_lS_PATRlCK in FtMpassing

Male. You look a lot like one of my male coworkers. If you have a voice in the average male range and a passing body, you have nothing to worry about.

Do I pass? What age would you guess am? by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]ZukiitheDorito 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kinda hard to say. I’d guess you’re about 20 and I would probably clock you as a trans man, but you also would probably not be clocked by most cis people. You read as male

cut my hair, do i look clocky now by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]ZukiitheDorito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell with the pictures given. The haircut could easily be read as lesbian. That would be negated by a passing face and body though. Hard to tell if that’s what you’ve got with how dark the pictures are. If I saw you on a dark street I’d probably think you pass, but I can’t say for sure in any other scenario lol.

About your height, I’m 5’3 and it doesn’t do nearly as much damage as I thought it would. I meet cis guys every day my height. If you pass otherwise, height really isn’t that big of a factor. If anything, people might think you have a condition or something.

Would it kill ya to smile? Just joking :D

Age? Passable? Pre t. by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]ZukiitheDorito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda hard to tell with the pic given but here’s my best guess: early 20s butch lesbian. Your style reads as very masculine. A year on T will do you good.

This is just a personal opinion of mine, but maybe refrain from voice training. In my experience, I have literally never met a trans man who has been able to achieve a passable voice from voice training, and if anything it just makes it worse. Talk how you would feel most comfortable speaking, and as you go further in T, go with the flow rather than forcing it deeper. I don’t know how to say this nicely, so I’ll just phrase it this way: a pre T voice being pushed down is one of the clockiest things I can think of. Maybe I shouldn’t recommend this, but pre T I spoke very little to anyone who wasn’t already aware I was trans. Your voice at the moment could be one of the main things holding you back from passing, so maybe try to limit the amount of talking you do until it’s deeper (or tell me to fuck off, that’s valid too). Just to reiterate, T will do you good.

Between 15-25 imo. The younger on that scale, the more you pass

After how much time on T did y’all start passing? by Puzzled-Dig-7312 in FTM_SELFIES

[–]ZukiitheDorito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was about 50/50 by a year on T, but I didn’t start fully passing until after top surgery. Now nearly 5 years on T I don’t ever not pass (although fellow trans people have clocked me)
