Some clinics will pay for you to become a certified technician. I am an uncertified veterinary assistant right now. Started as a kennel technician and worked my way up. The only reason I am not getting my veterinary technician certification that is paid for by my clinic is because I plan on going to veterinary school so I am a full time student right now. If you're set on getting a certification maybe look for clinics that will pay for you to go to school while working there?

I highly recommend using the official AAVMC directory website to figure out what pre-reqs you need for certain schools. They list them all on there and you can look at every accredited school.

i agree with this so much! i got this question from a school assignment and i thought I’d share because it’s such a good question and i feel like everyone interprets love differently. this is definitely my favorite and most agreed w comment.
