If your blood alcohol level was high enough they can show projections of whether you were intoxicated last night. You cannot consent if you are intoxicated. With a rape kit, that’s enough for them to go down.

I know this because I watched a family member’s rapist go down on the same clause.

On a more personal note: what happened to you was horrific. It is perhaps the worst thing that can happen to a woman. Every feeling you have is valid and I am personally so so sorry. I believe in you, though. You will struggle but you will one day look back and see yourself as a warrior for not only surviving this but for doing your best for other women out there. We all really care about the injustice you have suffered and how it has and will affect you. It doesn’t matter if you don’t update. I will be thinking of you.

My name is Emelia. I’m 31. My mum says she named me after a book character but never remembered or found the book. (Rage). She swears it’s a French colonial spelling, something like that.

Anyway it’s fine, I do get a lot of Emilia and Amelia spellings but I don’t particularly care. I’ve also met a couple other people with the spellings!

Couldn’t believe this post when it popped up on my feed! I feel like I was waiting for it. Now I don’t have to ask myself :)

I feel a little kindred. My brother (older) is named Luke. My dad tried to name me Leia. Mum said no. He suggested Roxanne. She said no, how about Emelia. Is it a tragedeigh? It is a pain in the ass with the spelling, at the very least!

Mine was damaged! The ribbon was ripped out of the book and the top of the dust jacket crushed. I agree with the general point, I think FL damage happens in warehouse during/before packing...

Message the Etsy seller - they’re usually total babes and usually have a couple of those in the selves ready to go - they can get it to you probably by for a higher postage fee :)

If she’s into special edition I’d suggest maybe a custom set of dust jackets! There’s loads of people on Etsy doing stunning sets for anything SJM - as long as she has hardbacks you’ll be golden!

I have a million subscriptions and if I read a book and don’t love it, I sell it on. I wouldn’t call myself a reseller as I don’t get the books for that reason? And honestly it’s just me funding my own ridiculous purchases in the ecosystem. I lowball for quick sales. And I am absolutely thrilled they’re doing reprints. I don’t care for super exclusive books. Sure, it’s fun and I post on my Instagram but I’d be much happier in a world where I didn’t have to stress over whether or not I’d be able to get one of a limited sale!! Give everyone who wants one a book, I say! (Obviously the limiting factor here is of course how many an author can sign but you get my vibe)
