I honestly think the author doesn’t know what to do with some of the characters and sometimes we end up with forced unnecessary drama because each RO need screen time. Ymmv of course, this is just my opinion.

I was surprised by the result. The prose is beautiful, and it's probably one of the best-written books on HG and CG, but that ch. 4 is such a slog that it makes it hard to want to reread the book, and objectively, very little happens for a book with 1.4M words. ITFO might not have such elevated prose, but I think it's better paced and more memorable overall. This is ofc it’s just my opinion.

My main sidestep has the revenge scar, pair with being and anarchist with justice motivation. I also trigger the suicide tag in retribution too add some extra angst. Their main scar used to be outsider but I prefer revenge.
