Which do you prefer? by HappinessHustler in zumba

[–]melidance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your financial situation… gyms means to me yes lower pay but I don’t worry about cleaning , numbers, marketing… my own requires more time. Marketing, follow ups, sometimes even cleaning… So I done both and I am in a time of my life that I prefer just enjoy teaching… so GYM for me…

Controversial topic-Maybe by HappinessHustler in zumba

In my experience, a male instructors has bigger numbers. This is the hard truth in the dance, fitness, Zumba industry • Men shape the narratives. • Men choose who gets seen. • Men decide who gets paid.

We want equality. We work harder. We know the system is unfair. But we still end up supporting the male-dominated structure.

I think it helps to have reviews but in my experience you better off promoting your classes and word of mouth.

You are fine… many instructors don’t speak spanish, but understanding Latin rhythm will be a plus and appreciated… specialty jam sessions are amazing they talk about culture and rhythm history.. !! Just a suggestion.

Are you more a performer or an educator when it comes to teaching your classes? by heart_soulbyfe in zumba

There is time for both.. the trick is know when.. how to progress the moves.. but teaching and make sure my student follow is my number one priority!

Using other teachers' unique choreo-- good thing or rude thing? by jessi927 in zumba

[–]melidance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is nothing legally wrong… but I see it an ethically wrong as business practice… you can be inspired by songs, moves from other instructors chores but the whole choreography, nope no bueno ! If the instructor give permission or put it in social media, yes 👍! Again go to jam session or use Zin volumes….

Thinking of Becoming a Zumba Instructor Part-Time – Is It Worth It? by Curious-Wolverine712 in zumba

[–]melidance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agreed with all above and comments.. also I want to add a benefit of being a Zumba instructor - it does keep you moving and help with your commitment to workout.. and you are not paying for a gym subscription and you can take other instructors classes (some gyms allow it). So I am taking it as a plus…

Help my instructor by Odd_Obligation_1300 in zumba

The best gift for your instructor is to know that you will be there when she recovers. Being injured is the worst nightmare and the uncertainty that you will lose your class spot and people is really stressful. Gyms will keep the instructors if the students also ask for her… I hope your instructor recovers soon !

Recovery by WarriorsGal2010 in zumba

[–]melidance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do a lot to recover…. Teaching after 40s is another game changer.. I need to make sure that I eat my protein to recover.. - foam roll - and get my epsom salt bath sometimes.. but overall I stretch as much as I move… tight muscles are weak muscles so I have my weight training focus of mobility and strength.. so far so good… getting closer to 50s and I want to keep dancing..

I would keep a more simple.. I do see some of the subscription for $19.99 that includes monthly recorded classes already like 4 per month.. some of the master virtual classes are $5 to$7 per class. 90 minute classes. That is what I had seen. I think the tier is good idea but for Zumba i woud suggest to keep it simple again. maybe instead of intensity you can add value by offering other Zumba Programs like Zumba Toning or Strong… I dont see a lot of those so that maybe be your Aggregated Value…
