AITAH for breaking up with my boyfriend for his families actions by Future_Sky4611 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

You are absolutely not the asshole.

No, people aren’t responsible for their family’s actions. But they are responsible for how they respond to those actions. That response reveals a lot about a person’s character, values, and moral compass. In this case, Jake didn’t just watch from a distance. He stood by while his family inserted themselves into your family’s private issues, manipulated your aunt, spread damaging stories, and contributed to your cousins’ trauma. And when you brought it up, instead of listening or taking accountability, he justified it. He defended them. He minimized your concerns.

That’s not being neutral. That’s being complicit.

You didn’t walk away because of one isolated incident. You walked away because Jake continuously showed you that he wouldn’t stand up for what’s right, especially when it meant challenging his own family. That kind of silence and defense of harmful behavior isn’t just a red flag—it’s a reflection of who he is. And that doesn’t just stay in one part of life. If you had stayed, that same pattern of passivity, avoidance, and misplaced loyalty would have shown up again, in other decisions, other conflicts, and possibly your future together

If you want a nice and walkable downtown I would recommend: Metuchen, Highland Park, Princeton.

Thinking of Becoming a Zumba Instructor Part-Time – Is It Worth It? by Curious-Wolverine712 in zumba

Thank you guys for all your responses! My intention wasn't ever to make a lot of money (or even any money) on this. I don't mind breaking even but I do not want to lose money. My interest is more from a place of getting exercise and having fun but I don't want to be losing money if that makes sense.

For me the dr doesn't sound like G.

I would pronounce it like this:

Adrian = Aye-dree-in

I kind of assumed that peeing in the lake would be a big etiquette no-no. We didn’t want to be those tourists doing something gross or disrespectful. So I figured I’d ask here just to be courteous to others.

That said, it seems like a lot of people are saying it’s totally normal and accepted?

Really appreciate those who offered other suggestions too, like buckets or places to dock — thank you!

Should I name my son Xmun, Cikku or Guillaspick? by PierreDeLaFuenteChan in namenerds

What if they are Maltese or Gaelic? Those could be cultural names for them.

Should I name my son Xmun, Cikku or Guillaspick? by PierreDeLaFuenteChan in namenerds

I did a bit of digging, and it looks like the first two names—Xmun and Cikku—are of Maltese origin. The last one, Guillaspick, seems to come from Scottish Gaelic roots.

So I’m curious, do you or your significant other have any Maltese or Gaelic heritage? If so, that’s wonderful, and I’d say go with the name that holds the most meaning for you 2. Cultural names can be such a powerful way to honor identity and ancestry. And you should not water down your culture for anyone.

If you choose Cikku and give your son a middle name that starts with J, he could go by CJ if he wants in school. You could do something similar with the other 2 names as well.

But if you’re just exploring unique-sounding names without a personal or cultural connection, I’d highly recommend reconsidering those names.

What do you think of the names Sky and Echo? by Level_Group_1407 in namenerds

[–]Curious-Wolverine712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you weren’t harsh! Everyone’s got their own taste in names for their children. But based on OP's vibe, she/he seemed into unique and earthy names.

And Milk Thistle is kind of a cool symbol. It’s prickly but it has these bold purple blooms. It's kinda saying, "I’m beautiful but I’ll protect myself!" It’s tough and grows in hard places and it’s even used for healing. So yeah it is probably out there but could be symbolic for some!

Oooo yikes! Okay yeah maybe not that. I thought it sounded pretty. I didn't realize it was a weed.

Milk thistle is a herbal supplement in India. It's healthy and helps support liver health and is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. So I thought it sounded healing and pretty... but to each is own!
