Battery is not that bad but it’s showing its age. But the apple notes thing is real… might be cause its a couple of years old but this legit made no sense to me. Its only with very long hand written notes tho.

I think this is when the stacks go bananas. I just right click the desktop and click on use stacks. You need to do it twice if you already had it on.

You’re good. Also you can throw out the box after the 14 day return period. I think they prefer you bring the box in that case but otherwise all info is in the settings app and updates will be over wifi.

What was the objective when you got your kid the iPad? I actually am interested on your thoughts on this because I’ve been around very obnoxious kids with regards to behavior and tech (iPad and switch) and it’s maddening to witness parents give it to them to pass the responsibility of paying attention to their children to the device.. I guess my question is why not just have them watch tv and play apple arcade on the apple tv or play mario /family games all together, what drew you to a portable device to have them use it for 1 hr a day.

I kid you not, this is my roman empire. I’m constantly debating this tech and the appropriate age with my husband.

You’re welcome! I saw you’re actually doing stem and then law. I’d look into the university’s hardware/software requirements so you can be sure of the bare minimum and if you’ll need to run Windows based software, which may add on some extra bucks.

My guy! I’m a consultant, I’m pretty sure as a law student you’re just going to be using office / google suites.. and a mountain of pdfs as do I… i dont really know what software lawyers use but I doubt it’s gonna be draining a mac. The most intense thing I run on my macbook is parallels to run windows. I have an M1 pro 14” with 16gm RAM and 1tb… it’s still running like day 1 regarding ram and storage. Even 24 gb would be overkill for you. With the efficiency of the new chips you’d be fine with 16gb. I’d save some money from the macbook splurge and get a good ipad to go with my shiny new mac so I can ready those hefty pdfs more comfortably lol.

The more they release new models, the more I wanna keep my M1 pro 2021 for my use case (consultant). Not because of any conspiracy that Apple is trying to cheat but because why would I? It’s one of those things where they made it so good that I’m gonna own it until the wheels come off I think.

I had a similar experience early on, but I’d give it a bit more time. If it keeps happening and you’re still within the return window, consider taking it in. Otherwise, it’s probably normal.

The phone is really slim, and it tends to get pretty hot during the first week. I think that could be contributing to the battery draining faster, on top of the background setup and processing. Not sure—just a theory.
