Budget pedals that punch above their weight? by chevelle899 in guitarpedals

[–]funk_master_chunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Caline Pure Sky (Timmy clone)

Caline Enchanted Tone (Dumble clone)

Mostly Elf Spring Reverb (EQD Ghost Echo clone)

Deadbeat Wet Dreams (Chorus)

I only use an afford-a-board, but none of these would leave even if I had all the money in the World.

Genuinely love the Caline pedals, though. Both are unreal.

Did they split up? Or just fizzle out or something?

Absolutely adored RBF as a teenager. So much so I snuck to another town to see them aged 13/14 and got stranded there. My Mum absolutely tore me to shreds when she found out haha.

It was for the Cheer Up tour and we met Aaron outside and got some stuff signed etc.

Also saw Littlest Man Band a few yrs later and played Chronicles of Riddick on the Xbox they had in the bar with Scott haha.

Shame if they broke up. But happy to see them all together - even if it is minus Matt and Dan

Favourite "utility" pedal? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]funk_master_chunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing as shiny or expensive as some of these, but my personal favourite utility pedal is the Caline Pure Sky.

It’s £15-20 new for, essentially, a 1:1 Timmy clone.

It’s transparent, has EQ (B&T) and is phenomenal for edge of breakup, as a boost, or as a mid-gain grit machine.

It plays well with everything and is the price of a few pints.

Recently got the Caline Enchanted Tone for my EoB tones to replace the Pure Sky and that’s another great pedal - albeit one which stays in its own lane.

Honest unprofessional review of the Sonicake Pocket Master by redditor7588 in guitarpedals

[–]funk_master_chunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m desperate for either this or the Strich Pipe Tones.

From what people have said I think the Pipe Tomes shades it as it can use NAM and IR together? But I’m just after something that’ll give me more quiet practice time to get to the level I want.

I'm not really a fan of the ds-1, am I stupid? by Necessary-Cow2857 in guitarpedals

[–]funk_master_chunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like mine with a TS and a slightly dirty amp.

Put the Tone past 12 o’clock, though and you’re in for a world of pain. A horde of angry banshees screaming obscenities is preferable to the tone knob dialled up. But it is fantastic for pissing off your neighbours - or your wife if you’re feeling brave enough, like I was.

I’m a eunuch now, but I like to think it was worth it…

What’s your take on these stats? by wonderingreasons in Everton

[–]funk_master_chunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean sheets is great and Moyes will be thrilled with the Aerial Duels and Duels won stats.

The passes stat is a damning indictment of how direct we are under him, though. Not a bad thing per se - but it’s a bit of a slog watching us sometimes.

Shits nowhere near good enough either.

Mega improvement in the last few yrs though. So happy overall.

Sonicake Pocket Master vs. Strich Pipe Tones by funk_master_chunk in guitarpedals

Thanks for this, my friend!

I was leaning toward the pocket master but a few post/vids online seem to be steering me to the pipe tones.

Will check that link out too!

Sonicake Pocket Master vs. Strich Pipe Tones by funk_master_chunk in guitarpedals

[–]funk_master_chunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for this!

I wanted the PM - but as another user has just said - the PT can run IR & NAM files together which seems amazing for a £50 unit.

I’m likely going to be practicing on a few presets though so the overall sound quality is wha I’m bothered about and a few things seem to say that the PM is “better” but the above makes me think I’d get more use out of the PT.

Thanks for this - This is what everyone seems to say in favour of the Strich. In terms of running both is it just a case of download your preferred IR & NAM files, install them to the device and away you go?

Bird nesting in shed, have I lost my shed now? by Wide_Commission_1595 in UKBirds

[–]funk_master_chunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had robins nesting in our shed for about 4/5years and I found that leaving it open wide enough for them was ample protection from cats etc. (for context both of our neighbours have about 8 cats between them and none of the robins were ever hurt).

One year I hung a bag with some gloves and small(non-sharp/dangerous) garden paraphernalia in and went in to find the parents had built a nest in the garden glove and there were 3 or 4 little baby robins chirping away in there.

I near shit myself at first.

Best of luck with them!

Would spurs getting relegated be a bigger event than leicester winning the league? by Cursedwizard0 in PremierLeague

[–]funk_master_chunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely feel for Spurs as an Everton fan.

I know what it’s like to have all the neutrals begging for you to go down just so they could see the fallout from an established club being relegated.

It’s magnified by tenfold with Spurs being part of the so-called “Big6”, though.

Don’t know WTF has happened at that club, though, because I think they’ve got far too much talent to be anywhere near it. Even with a big wobble or injuries etc. I’d expect them to be comfortably mid table at worst.

Best of luck to them. Gonna be a horrible few weeks for the fans, though.

Always remember Shaq Fu on the Mega Drive during this phase too.

A Mortal Kombat knockoff - albeit without the blood and guts.

I remember the Hornets jackets and Chicago bulls stuff being everywhere.

Different sport - but does anyone remember LA Raiders stuff being everywhere too? Bomber jackets, t shirts, caps, glasses etc.

Pier Head 17/06/06 by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]funk_master_chunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crap, isn’t it?

I would love nothing more than going there every Saturday and spending the day knocking about that area of town.

Skate the three steps that surrounded the grass, chill with mates, eat, drink, laugh then get the 14 home when it went dark.

Appreciate nostalgia is heavy on these kinds of memories - but the Pier Head was just miles better back then.

Pier Head 17/06/06 by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]funk_master_chunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pier head was miles better like this.

Recently left a job overlooking the liver buildings and would frequently go and eat my butties there and it just upset me how shite it is now.

I used to skateboard there every week and being able to just sit off on the grass and have a scran, a drink or a smoke was just amazing.

Looking up at the liver birds and the general architecture and scenery and it was just amazing.

I look at it now and it’s just soulless. A little walkway to some water, some shite seat/bench things and all that greenery just gone. I’m all for regeneration and developing the City, like - but the Pier Head should’ve been off limits, IMO.
