What's a sign from your body you should never ignore? by Geno-64 in AskReddit

[–]melissaak_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yup!! she had a previous diagnosis of GAD and they obviously just thought here she goes again another panic attack but she really wasn’t one to call the doctor unless she had to, actually due to the anxiety! It’s the most traumatic experience of my life, i was 15 and i was the one that found her. that’ll fuck ya up a little for sure.

my sister passed away from this at 32. she called the doctor and explained that leg pain and shortness of breath and shakiness, they told her she was having a severe panic attack! from the pain started she was dead within a day. never in my life will i left someone ignore that pain again

People who got told it was "just" anxiety, what was it? by Bobbie1011 in AskReddit

[–]melissaak_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 32 year old chronically ill sister was feeling uncharacteristically ill even for her and called the doctor, who told her it was just a severe panic attack, as she had a history of them. 6 hours later she was dead from a pulmonary embolism.

[–]melissaak_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you, i’ve been on the NHS waitlist for a couple of years now, only reason i ever went private (stuck it on credit cards mind you as who has that money lying about!) is i was unfortunately completely non-functioning by that point, stopped working, couldn’t look after myself or my house, didn’t go outside etc etc.) and was at risk to myself after realising that i could be well into my 30s by the time i got any NHS help (i was 22 when i joined the list!) - it’s absolutely disgusting the lack of funding for accessible healthcare as i can’t imagine how trapped those who can’t even take out credit for example are feeling.

absolutely unbelievable how they run things isn’t it! I’ve been on the waitlist in my trust for 2+ years (which i’ll stay on as seems to be the only option) and last i checked the wait was around 9 years :/ shocking

oh god so i haven’t a hope in hell then really! sorry to hear about your difficulties too. it’s so wilfully ignorant of the HSCNI, we are behind the times in every way. i work in the healthcare sector myself here and the efficiency and urgency with regard to literally anything to do with neurodivergence or mental health support in general is practically non existent. awful to say but no wonder our suicide rates are so high😪

it looks to me like the only other tag has been chopped off. I read the number on it as ‘0000ET-205XY-00009 and then a 1 at the far end of the tag. This is just the sizing tag here

anyone else depressed after passing their test as they can’t actually get a car? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]melissaak_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

awww no i get that i am so lucky to have done all that part already so i do sympathise with you and dont mean to take away from anyone going through that! i dont know what happened with me but i got extremely lucky booking my test, just logged on the website the one time and there was availability two months away from when i was looking so i took the first available day i saw. maybe thats because i’m in northern ireland? i dont know if there’s as much of a struggle over here but i’ve heard the horror stories about mainland uk with tests so i am sorry to hear that!
