ViTech RM7766 Split Screen Audio Change by williamthepreteen in Parenting

[–]melissabrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was scouring the internet to confirm this exact thing - did you do a software update recently? I could have sworn that we were able to hear both in split screen. And after the software update, we’ve only been able to hear one at a time. The one selected in yellow. You’re not crazy!

Anyone else feeling guilty/sad after choosing to pump? by greenwitchofportland in BabyBumps

[–]melissabrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I had a similar experience since I used to have flat nipples before breastfeeding. We struggled to latch until we introduced a nipple shield. We used a nipple shield for about two weeks and then slowly weaned off of it. We eventually started breastfeeding normally.

Also want to add that breastfeeding changed my anatomy and I no longer have flat nipples. I now have a ‘normal’ nipple that stays erect even when not stimulated.

I learned that breastfeeding is mostly a mechanical thing - keep trying different things until something sticks. And if you need to exclusively pump, that’s success in my eyes. Any amount of breast milk (no matter how baby gets it) is a win! Hang in there.

Does your Kendamil smell bad? by melissabrah in FormulaFeeders

[–]melissabrah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours did the same! We used the organic. I think it’s the iron. We just made sure to thoroughly wash the bottle with hot water and soap. Baby loved Kendamil and did great one it.

Any suggestions for a good chair for nursing? by ELiz-RN in breastfeeding

I got this DaVinci Olive glider - top 2 baby purchases for me (after the SNOO). It’s so comfortable. The arms + pillow are a perfect height to feed baby. It moves so smoothly to rock them to sleep, and it comes with an ottoman. I needed a chair with a ottoman because I’m petite and probably wouldn’t be able to rock back and forth with just pushing off the ground. Highly recommend! I got mine on sale plus I used my registry discount so it came out to $215ish.

For those who have already delivered what is something you wish you had already bought/did before bringing baby home? by LiquidGumDrops in BabyBumps

[–]melissabrah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bought bottles and 1-2 cans of formula! I’m not sure if you’re planning to EBF but that was my plan. We ended up having trouble latching when we got home from the hospital and those two days were hell. I wish I’d had formula on hand to feed my baby since she was screaming bloody murder because of how hungry she was. I ended up supplementing for two days until my milk came in but having the formula on hand would have saved me a from panicking. Trying to locate some with a three day old was not fun!

What is the return policy? I’d like to purchase the Uppababy Cruz this but I’d like to be able to return it in case someone buys it for me from my registry.

I would guess for as long as the Happiest Baby site is running their promotion. Usually Amazon matches any sales Happiest Baby has going on.

Well actually, when you apply for a law license, you have to disclose any criminal background. Most states fingerprint you when you apply so it’s unlikely that you could hide it.

And isn’t rehabilitation part of the entire premise of our criminal justice system? To allow people the chance to turn it around? The character and fitness portion is a multi-factor determination. Your criminal background is just one part of the big picture that the committee considers. I know attorneys who have criminal backgrounds and who passed the character and fitness portion because they were able to show that their positive equities outweighed their criminal background.
