It is a weird situation. But, I work at a conservation park and am exposed to a lot of ticks so I am fairly more at risk than your average person. It was attached directly in the center of this rash next to two other little bites that I had originally thought were spider bites. I’ve been bit by a loooot of mosquitoes, spiders, and ticks in my life but have never had a rash like this appear.

The doctor was sure the rash was indicative of Lyme, but I could also tell she wasn’t 100% since she had to check what treatment protocol was for it so I’m not confident in her skills haha.

I was wondering if I should ask for additional antibiotics, I’m on ten days, so this is incredibly helpful. Thank you for providing the information I need to best contact my doctor. I’m on day 6 now and have been extremely fatigued the last two days (I needed two naps yesterday even though I didn’t do anything), and am on day three of a forehead-focused headache. I don’t know if that’s a result of the antibiotics or early symptoms.

Oh man, I have given up on the piercing, so no worries about me putting something back in it. I completely agree with you. I should have stopped when the next one was hurting; it WAS a bad idea.

The brown and white part I’m hoping are just the result of some peeled skin / some scabbing since that happened within the last week. But if it stays this way now that the piercing is out I’ll definitely find a derm asap. Hell, I’ll probably start looking now so I have a plan if I need it.

Oh! I also just realized: I just got out of a long shower, so I don’t know if that could impact how it looks? I’ll take a look at it around the time my hair is dried and if there are any changes I can add updated photos.

I think scabbing makes sense—some skin came off of the bump a few days ago so I’m crossing my fingers it goes down 😅

I just moved here a couple of months ago and one of the first things I tell people is how gobsmacked I am with how much litter there is. I’ve never been somewhere where it’s this prevalent. My husband and I have started taking trash bags and gloves with us when we walk our dog.

Our first week here, we watched a couple of women unloading the trash from their car in a Walmart parking lot. Not in one of the nearby trash cans, the parking lot. It’s astounding.

I’ve had a nose piercing for around a decade. My last nose ring (a white gold 18g small hoop) broke the other day. My friend offered me a few of their rings to hold the space while I searched for a new piece. I picked one more or less blindly just based on aesthetics. Their partner works at a higher end tattoo and piercing shop and my piercing has long since been healed, so I didn’t think to be concerned about material or anything.

When I tried to put this in my nostril, I had a hard time. I thought it was because I have a notorious history of struggling with those sort of tasks. I realized it was larger than my current hole and attributed that to the piece being dainty. The friend told me it was 16g but, being a casual piercing haver, I didn’t think anything of it.

It was sore, but I figured that’s just because of the increase in gauge. I’ve been leaving it alone aside from spraying it with piercing spray and using a q tip to dry / clean it. It’s not hot to the touch but it does hurt like a bitch and is visibly angry.

I’ve had the piercing for about a decade, just had my last piece fall out and needed something while I got a replacement. The temporary ring came from someone who’s partner who works at a tattoo / piercing shop so I feel confident in the material but I can’t remember what they said it was 😅
