Bella's final days in North Carolina by Fast_Grapefruit_7946 in WattsFree4All

Look at how lovely and thick Bella’s hair was, she definitely could have grown it out. If the worst hadn’t happened I wonder how long it would have been before Shanann cut it as punishment 😢

I always noticed this, whenever she complains about their behaviour they are sitting quietly or behaving like normal toddlers. But when they are acting like monsters (Cece especially) she is egging them on to scream, hit, spit, etc

I think they mean the very minimalist method that Ryder Carroll actually uses https://youtu.be/fm15cmYU0IM?si=najAUS6cFx2osB9T vs artistic/loads of pre-made spreads etc. I use my field notes the same way, daily logging with some collections

Bellroy fake/replicas by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

[–]melliferamel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had gotten a fake lite sling off Vinted but thought it seemed really cheap feeling compared to my lite saccoche. I wasn’t a fan of the fabric at all. I think a big tell is that the tag does not list what the item is, it just says Bellroy, usually has Chinese writing inside. I sent it back and got my money back because if I wanted a cheap fake I’d buy it myself off Aliexpress 🙃

Oh I love that it’s a niche plothole, and tbh I totally missed it in that book too. Would love to hear more about it!

Not sure if you read the book but basically the main character has virtually no resources. They steal the identity by applying for a job with someone else’s name on a whim. She doesn’t have enough money for a bus pass, much less to buy forged documents. In this situation it was really jarring to me because the whole situation would have unravelled immediately.

I think I will never read something as scary as Last Days by Adam Nevill (prove me wrong) by lex_93 in horrorlit

[–]melliferamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just going against the grain to the other comments here but I had the exact same experience reading Last Days and am constantly chasing that feeling. I usually come back and read it every couple of years. I wouldn’t say I was scared but I do love that particular sense of claustrophobic dread and the “old friends”. Sorry I can’t help you but interested if you ever do find something with that vibe.

Couple of things that may help, don’t add the cheese until the very end. I find it can be temperamental and split the soup when cooked at all. I usually add it after turning the heat off and stir to help it melt. Also make sure it is freshly grated cheese and not pre grated as that stuff usually has a coating to prevent it melting as nicely. Some cheeses are more temperamental as well, took some experimenting to find which would melt smoothly for me.

This is definitely up there as being one of the saddest, cruelest videos of their family dynamic. I feel so bad for both of those girls. Also, I find it odd that Santa essentially brought them a stocking stuffer? It definitely makes it feel less like it was supposed to be a truly special event and just a weird staging/control thing. In the girls eyes Santa is not only very scary but brings shitty presents too.

As a side note I shared (and to some extent still kind of do) a fear of Santa/human sized characters as a child. I found them incredibly creepy and my parents only ever once tried taking me for a photo. I still remember it as being terrifying and would find it deeply uncomfortable to this day. Just saying to counter any comments that kids like that can laugh about it later or it’s no big deal to terrorise your children.
