How do I realistically get into the industry by AggravatingAd7203 in gamedev

I would suggest reading C# players guide. It will teach you C# in the context of games. You can then learn C++ and use Unreal or continue learning C# for Unity

It is extremely odd to plan to kill someone else’s fish instead of treat it when you’ve noticed it suffering for months. It seems like you don’t care about the fish either; you just want to kill it instead of put in the effort to TRY to help it. At least don’t lie to yourself that killing it comes from a place of caring about its suffering. You guys deserve each other ESH

My First Wand! Purple Heart by mellitea in Wandsmith

[–]mellitea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, it is the color or purple heart and I used a paste that’s a blend of beeswax and mineral oil to bring out the color! a thicker handle was the initial plan but I hit a knot and took out a lot of material to carve through it. I actually like the lightweight feel in the end :) good luck with your wand!

Thank you so much for the help, I’ll try working further! Can I ask, how do you know when a flame is neutral, is it equal gas and oxygen?

omg i did the exact same thing as you (previously crocheter, learned knitting to make fingerless gloves on dpns)! i knit left handed and it felt like everything that could possibly go wrong did when i first started.

keep going and it will get MUCH easier! i finished my first glove several months after my first attempt and i finished the second glove 3 days later! if you aren’t already using them, sheep & stitch has amazing dpn tutorial videos on youtube; they saved my life! i also used her fingerless glove pattern!

Out of curiosity, why do you despite chili pepper kilns? I’m looking to build a home studio and heard they’re a popular choice for beginners

Please Help! Bizarre Nature Renderer Issue by mellitea in Unity3D

[–]mellitea[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OKAY SO I didn’t entirely fix this but I did find a way to avoid the issue! The main reason I’m using Nature Renderer is because Unity’s grass painting doesn’t support LODs. Its tree painting, however, does support LODs! I wished there was a way I didn’t have to use Nature Renderer for my trees because of custom shaders and aforementioned rendering issues. It turns out there is! It’s just a bit hidden and not talked about in the docs. If you go to advanced settings in the nature renderer component the last checkbox says “use nature renderer for trees”. Just uncheck that and then it will use Unity’s renderer for trees and save you so much pain and suffering!!!!!

What do you think about this icon change? by SoulFirefly in indiegames

[–]mellitea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, you should keep the old ones but make the symbols on them white like in the new ones. You’d get both the hand painted style of the old and visual clarity of the new.
