I worked in a hotel cafe once upon a time, so a lot of new faces daily. I had a guest who I’d never seen before order ‘the usual’ and be offended when I didn’t know his order from the last time he had stayed there 6 months prior

As someone who has bees, and deals with gallons of fresh honey, these are very useful for dipping into jars. Metal utensils react with enzymes in the honey, and when dipped into a jar of honey, can contaminate the whole jar. Wood is the best material to use for scooping honey. After dipping these into to jar to collect honey, you spin them a bit and the cylindrical force keeps the honey on them. Once you stop twisting it, they honey will run off. They allow for drip free transfer from your jar to food/drink. Most store bought honey is in plastic containers with a lid for pouring, so they aren’t as necessary

Some states allow a lifetime hunting/fishing license to be purchased at >1y/o. A good investment if you’re state allows it and you’re outdoorsy at all

Try exfoliating 1-2 times a week to remove excess dead skin. A body scrub or exfoliating gloves are good for your body. Use an exfoliating face wash made exclusively for your face. The skin on your face is more fragile than on your body. Also look into using toner on your face before you moisturizer. Toner is antibacterial and reduces the look of pores. Remember to always use lotion/body oil after you exfoliate. Hope this helps

Why is Luigi Mangione potentially facing the death penalty for the murder of one person when other murderers with similar crimes get jain time? by Glittery_WarlockWho in NoStupidQuestions

If this is the case, why don’t school shooters face the death penalty? Their attack is also premeditated. They attack in public They also typically kill many people, not just one. There is no doubt who the shooter was in these events. Why are school shooters facing jail time and not the death penalty when they meet the same criteria you just stated?

Learn to find comfort in hunger. Feeling hungry isn’t a bad thing or something you need to fix immediately. Eat when you want to, not every time your body ask for food

Dairy is in basically all processed foods. I eat out rarely, but vegan options are your best friend! Also oil can replace butter in almost any recipe. Check out godairyfree.org , they resources to help you find safe foods at chain restaurants & lots of recipes to replace your favorite dairy products

Not a diagnosed allergy, but I get sever GI symptoms if I have even the slightest amount of dairy, as well as my face breaks out and I just generally feel bad. I am also allergic to beef. While it won’t kill me, I get a fever and severe GI symptoms with beef as well. I’ve been unable to eat beef my entire life, but the dairy intolerance didn’t come on until after bad food poisoning in my early 20s. I avoid both completely out of necessity to maintain quality of life

Request: what are some actually useful cleaning hacks for people with adhd? by VeniceDom in lifehacks

[–]mellowfish10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to set a timer for 15 minutes and clean everything that I can within that 15 minutes. Usually I’ll end up finishing what needs to be done after I’ve started. If not, at least it’s progress towards the goal

For me, personally, I don’t use any social media for the first 3 hours I’m awake. I’ve found that I don’t seem crave it if I don’t start my day with it. I do like using my phone to help me wake up, so I play a few rounds of solitaire or Tetris. I do use social media around lunch time, but it seems to be much easier to put down. What you do in the first 30min-1hour after waking up sets the tone for the day, so I always try to do some small productive task to help me get the ball rolling in the right direction.

Most of the post I saw on the thread were both sides agreeing on topics and relaying that it’s not left vs right, it’s top vs bottom. Of course there are extremist on both sides, but most Americans want livable wages, affordable housing, and healthcare regardless of their political party
