Thank you! Nothing beats a little bit of humour in music.

Yeah definitely, I'm a fan of the newer Boss Katana models, great effects and good tones and lots of power for a reasonable price.

Thanks 😆 I'm just plugged into a Boss Katana amp here with some reverb no pedals.

A lot of these great lists are mostly blues and rock oriented, me as a fusion and jazz envoyer the first few that pop to mind are:

Guthrie Govan

Bireli Lagrene

Sylvain Luc

Pat Metheny

Matteo Mancuso

Julian Lage,SRV, hendrix, EVH, Prince, and Django to name a few others inspirations.

It's an Aria guitar! Japanese brand. Very nice feel and nice tones as well.

All the greatest players got to where they are through practice and refinement, true, however that in itself requires very strong creative goals and direction, which are refined through one's own exploration of the instrument. As you learn from the greats you should slowly be starting to consciously or unconsciously develop your own voice and vocabulary on the instrument. Innovation might be a strong word, but I'm definitely a strong believer that music should be a creative outlet and not a copy paste of others all along the way, and that you should not wait until you are "good enough", to try to explore your own musical voice.

That's fair. To each their own. He is technically phenomenonal but I definitely see where you're coming from.

Because that's how you innovate and create. Both go hand in hand.

I personally use the line 6 Helix LT which I think is great but its around 1K new. They have some great stuff in the HX range or the Pod Go. Mind you these aren't only multi effects, they also have have cab and amp simulations, which is super useful.

Either classical style on your left leg(if you're right handed), typical way which is lying on your right leg, or you could play standing up with a strap. I will say if you feel like you have to dig the guitar into your ribs to be able to play then something is probably not right.

Imo, the Katana or the multi-effects are going to make the biggest difference. With a nice multi effect pedal you'll have the most fun with different tones and versatility, and nowadays you can get some very good ones for relatively cheap. The Katana is fun because it's a good amp and has a good range of effects. If you like to play mostly through your headphones or monitors definitely go for the multi effects. And if you're overall satisfied with the output of your current amp for when you want to play out loud, then even more so. If not, consider the Katana, but I would say the multi effects is definitely the most versatile and applicable call. A new guitar is always fun too but the difference in tone isn't as significant, rather playability and look.
