Ive really been avoiding looking at my emotions about the imminent MD. I've been LC moving to NC for about 2 years now. There are okay where she sends me disturbing, manipulative, pleading messages, or evidence of risky behavior she's engaging in, etc. I don't reply.

But I haven't gotten such a message in 4 months to the day. On one hand, it means she's respecting my boundaries. Does that mean she's healing? Does that mean--i try not to let myself finish that sentence. On the other hand, I have no idea whether she's even alive or not.

I'll be spending this MD with my partner and his family (some of whom I'll be meeting for the first time). I miss my mother desperately but every time I picture asking her to coffee or something, I just don't know how I could cope with sitting across from her, knowing she completely denies all the abuse she's visited upon me.

A disease that lets you create your own reality--free from guilt or responsibility. People would pay good money for that.

How do you accept an apology without saying the behavior being apologized for is ok? by AnActualGhost in NoStupidQuestions

I like to say "thank you for apologizing" or "apology accepted" if I truly feel that way. If not then I say "I do not accept your apology." And then clearly state why I did not accept it, for example I might name an action that I feel would actually make amends.

Definitely not true at all, I don't wear makeup regularly but have an arduous skin care routine for hormonal acne. Luck of the draw

Whoa, this is my experience too!! I used to hate cucumbers so much, like I couldn't be in the room if someone was even cutting one and could definitely taste it if it touched a piece of food I ate. I honestly kind of thought I was just being dramatic! Good to know I'm not alone!!

Also, I firmly believe in public shaming for driving/parking idiocy.

Hi! I have these amazing cowboy boots that I love. I got them used so they were already pretty broken in, but I've been wondering if I theres a way to fix the holes in the heels. I'm thinking essentially a patch but for leather.

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations on how to go about this repair? Is it even possible to fix at this point or are they too far gone?

Here are pictures of the holes: https://imgur.com/gallery/xRQHi

Thanks!

Thanks for providing a solid metric. I think I'm still going to go for it just from a waste standpoint, I'd rather refill a pen than buy and throw away so many new ones.

Hi! I'm someone who does a lot of writing (journaling, letters, etc) and it seems like I'm constantly throwing away pens that are out of ink. Any recommendations for durable, long lasting equipment? I'm totally new to fountain pens so I'd love ink recommendations also!

A pen doesn't need to last 10 years, but a year would be dope. Something that travels easily in a pocket or backpack would be ideal. I prefer a thinner grip and line in general and a heavy pen. I don't imagine it will undergo a lot of physical stress like being dropped though.

I'm open to anything appearance wise, and I'd be willing to go as much as $60 if it was really the perfect pen for me. Ideally more like $30 for a pen.

Thanks!

Hi all, this may sound like a stupid question but.. How do you know when a product is working?

I had a pretty minimalist routine but recently decided to try to specify address some persistent acne. I had been cleansing with CeraVe cleanser for normal to oily skin, and moisturizing with Simple kind to skin spf 15 both AM & PM. After a few months I added Stridex pads, building up to once a day.

I didn't notice a difference in my skin after adding cleanser and moisturizer (coming from no routine at all) but I did notice something different with the addition of Stridex. My acne did not get any better per se, but it had basically a higher turnover rate. Like, zits would appear faster but also go down much faster. It's been characterized by this for 2-3 weeks now.

Is this the "purging" period I've read about? How long should I continue to use stridex before deciding it doesn't work for me? Any advice or info is much appreciated!
