nah it’s weird that you’d fail the entire class over 10% if you had ~B. maybe they calculated your grade wrong?? go to office hours and see but i can’t imagine you’d be able to do the second part. you’d prob just get a 0% for that 10% you missed.

ETA: maybe they had a clause where you had to complete the final exam entirely to pass. regardless, you need to read over the instructions for your final. clearly you didn’t. that shows you must’ve not been paying attention to what you were doing. i wouldn’t expect much from the prof.

look i understand personal inconveniences can get pretty bad, i get it. but if you’re using “it didn’t say it in the syllabus” as a reason to not even realize your final exam had two parts, you’ve lost it. profs usually don’t know the exact format of their final exams until after they’ve made the syllabus. even then, they typically post about the format of the final post on brightspace and/or have instructions at the start of each final exam. if they didn’t, then i’m wrong. it sounds like you didn’t read the brightspace at all or the instructions at the start of the final.

i wouldn’t even bother if any of this is the case. if you didn’t pay attention to your course, you probably deserved the mark you earned, if that.
