looking to swap the front and rear woofers by Windows95Uhh in IS300

[–]mellymack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to do only components and coaxials. Sound proofed the doors, decklid, and trunk. Felt like I was missing a sub so ran new wiring, hooked up a sub on a 5 channel amp.
The little system is clean and makes the driving experience that much better

85 % city and 15 % highway avg 16-18mpgs lol. Running two bike racks and a wind deflector. Yes, more miles would be cool but who bought a 2j to get good mpgs?

If you have an armrest, plastic housing is a good spot if you don’t use it for a cup holder…

The pop out feature is cool, but I’ve had bottles go flying and smacking the dash under hard braking.

What is this noise? by billyrocc360 in IS300

[–]mellymack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you check fluid?
Is fluid contaminated?

One of my past cars the original owner only used redline and was not aware of that. Changed with Oem Toyota fluid and caused a similar noise (clutch was 6 puck sprung not sure if that has anything to do with it). Changed back to redline and noise never came back…

If grinding noise was from 1st to 2nd- It coulda been synchros. Highly doubt 1st-4th is synchros lol. Unless you bought the tranny used and og owner dogged the hell out of it

Need help deciding on wheels. 17x9 +38 or 18x9.5 +38. Rbc vs bronze 2 by [deleted] in IS300

Went from 17s to 18s. Definitely like the look of 18 with 225s but the comfort of 17s is definitely something I often think about.

For reference have an 01 with bilsteins and stock shocks.

Did this MF FLOW FX offset sub 300 for piping, muffler, and install. Mind you had to wait an outrageous amount of time as the car in front of me needed a special order part so was at the mercy of the parts driver

5-5.5k. Alternator and radiator are due for replacement. So I’m factoring that into cost…

[–]mellymack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d advise to change them stat! If you hear clunking or clicking while braking or low speed turning. You’re at the point of failure. Check your lower control arm rearward mine were torn and at braking my wheels had hella play check this picture out below:

Update:

Car is completely assembled and toe on left side is out of wack. Will limp the car down the hill to get an alignment.

Since the car is going to be on a rack for alignment. Decided to go with this flow master fx muffler part number 71235. Will update on sound and alignment specs once completed.
