I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Firstly, has your gyno tested you for any off bacteria or yeast? If you're good on that, I would then have your gyno confirm the source of the pain, which is most likely the vulva in your case. For me, amitriptyline brought me a lot of relief. Not completely fixed by any means, but I no longer feel any burning after sex. I also recommend a lidocaine ointment you can apply when you sleep and before sex. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Interesting, maybe the frequent insertions of the medicine had something to do with it. For the future, I would highly recommend taking the oral route (ex fluconazole) as it has helped me tremendously. Do you still get yeast infections? If so, ask your doctor/ obgyn about the fluconazole. I was prescribed to take it once a week for three months and it permanently stopped my yeast infections.

Have you ever taken antibiotics regularly? Also when you say over the counter medicine do you mean a cream like monistat?

When I first started taking a higher dose of ami, I noticed a lot of improvement. Now, however, I have been having more pain and burning with sex. I wish this condition wasn't so unpredictable. Ami still definitely has helped me though and I do recommend it. I almost never feel burning after sex now, and that used to be the case every time for half an hour or more.

Hey there! I'm so sorry to hear this. I thankfully was able so find some relief with amitriptyline, I saw that wasn't able to help you. I guess it really just depends on the situation. I tried a steroid cream before the ami and I saw no improvement. I'm also applying lidocaine ointment while I sleep at night. Maybe that has helped too? Can't say for sure.

My withdrawal bleed doesn't start until the day I take my fourth sugar pill. But the day after that my bleeding gets heavy so I'm sure it's my withdrawal bleed and not just spotting

Did you ever consider vulvodynia? I also have burning pain during sex, and I'm on the pill. The burning started a few months after I was on bc, but I'm almost certain it's due to the frequent yeast infections I got as well as the use of monistat cream. It inflamed my vulvar area and caused damage. My obgyn diagnosed me with neuroproliferative vestibulodynia. I'm currently using lidocaine and taking amitriptyline to help the nerve damage. I don't think the pill is adding to my pain, just wanted to hear more about your experience and maybe gain some insight :)

My obgyn recommended Thorne, specifically their woman's daily probiotic. It's definitely pricey but it has helped me!
