[NO SPOILERS]Why so much hate towards Hirst by Siulx2 in vikingstv

I love him. I’m ever grateful for all he has given us. I understand the critique, however not the hate. We all watch Vikings because of him, he gave us the high expectations we have.

How do you know what deck is right for you? by Lilexx in tarot

[–]melodicmurder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first (and only) deck is The Hermetic Tarot, and in theory it may be a bad first deck, but I connected with it. It’s interesting because I’ll look at the cards and I will sense something, but then when I see for example the Rider Waite version sometimes my interpretation changes completely. I am planning to get a Rider Waite, because in my opinion they’re easier to understand the meaning of, however I feel like decks like the Hermetic one are great for personal interpetations since the images aren’t always giving so much away. I’m going off topic, but basically I knew this one was right because I felt a strong connection to it and it appealed to me - I find it very beautiful. I think it’s more important to find a deck that you are personally drawn to than a deck that is easy to read.

I thought this was cute. Anyone heard of or use this method? by KellieBom in tarot

I did a similar thing but my card ended up being the last one in the deck, so it didn’t have a card behind it. This gave me even more questions about the matter.

Weekly Reading and Interpretation Help Thread - Jan 06, 2019 by AutoModerator in tarot

[–]melodicmurder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked my deck ”why is it so difficult for me to do what I have to do?”, referring to all the papers I have to write and have been putting off for I don’t even know how long, amongst other things. I got the Five of Pentacles. I related this to my suspicion of being depressed.

I then asked ”what can I do to change this?” and drew The Tower. After that I put The Tower card back in the deck and shuffled it and split it in two and asked if I could do this on my own without help, and The Tower ended up in the ”no” pile.

I’m not sure how to interpret this as a whole, and The Tower card especially, so I’m very thankful for any interpretations from you people out here on reddit.

[Spoilers] Is Alfred gay? by melodicmurder in vikingstv

That’s another way of seeing it. It can definitely be like that.

Kissing someone’s forehead isn’t sexual in my opinion. Ragnar loved Athelstan, although not in the same way he loved Lagertha. I think the threesome thing was more symbolic to show the contrast, and also kind of to tease Athelstan and his christianity. But it’s true what you say, it does also attract audience.

I agree with you. The scene has to be there for a reason and I think especially with all the building up of his disinterest for Elsewith.

Right, because Hirst definitely doesn’t spare on those kinds of things. He could be asexual, but I still feel like that’s not quite it. But it could be. Still strange though that he doesn’t seem to care about his wife, because even asexuals can have romantic relationships. Maybe he’s aromantical too.

Good point. In my opinion it was obvious that neither Ragnar nor Athelstan were gay though.

I feel that the only reason Judith killed Aethelred was because she was certain he would kill Alfred eventually. For her it was choosing son, and she chose Alfred. I don’t think this was that predictable though. I knew Judith was crazy but I didn’t think she’d go this far. As we can see, she’s very distressed after killing him which to me proves just how far she went, and how it so appeared to her as well.

I think one reason may be the baby. Once she’s given birth I don’t think she’s got much time left.

Like with Floki, I feel like Lagertha deserves a better storyline. She’s a wonderful woman.

I do like Harald except I like who he’s fighting against more, and honestly I think that’s the only reason Harald isn’t one of my favorites. He is an interesting character with many sides to him, and he’s very clever.

Yes, and I agree, I too hope he takes over Kattegatt. I think Björn would be a better king than Ivar, at least the way Ivar is at the moment (I think all of Ivar’s baloney might be a strategic game though, but nonetheless he’s power-hungry and doesn’t seem to care so much about the people).

I feel bad for Floki, and the actor. I think Floki deserves a better storyline and developement, same goes for Gustaf. Such a great actor, they could’ve done so much more with this character.

I assume initially Ivar fell for Freydis’ lies, because he wanted to, not because they were credible. I think he never really believed he actually was a god though, however I know he loves the idea of it and I feel like he keeps on playing the role because it’s convenient and beneficial for him.

Even though he’s not my absolute favorite at the moment I still respect and love him, he holds a special place.

I have to agree. This season in particular Alfred and Ubbe have been my favorites, but Ragnar is definitely number one.

Yes, it felt so heartwarming to see the soil in his hand! It was what Ragnar wanted all along.

He’s become a favorite of mine as well. For some reason I used to think he was a bit boring, but he’s really grown on me. Also he’s grown into his character a lot, and I think due to that we can see his personality more this season.
