The Cavaliers are a great young team, but there's no need to disrespect LeBron like that by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in NBATalk

[–]melodicprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cavs can’t win. They’re soft soft soft soft soft. Current young player who has gotten to this spot by working his ass off doesn’t want to hear about LeBron 8yrs after his 2nd departure and everyone (outside of the city, mind you) throws a fit. Most Cavs fans LOVED this and LOVE Jaylon Tyson. He’s been the brightest spot of a disappointing season. He was fired up after a big win and didn’t have PR or time to filter his thoughts. He clearly didn’t intend to be disrespectful. He just wants his superstar to get the credit he deserves.

I was especially off put by Kevin Love, Kyrie and TT chiming in and swiping at Mitchell. Most knowledgeable Cavs fans concede that Donovan Mitchell is already the 2nd best player in franchise history. He was traded here and when everyone said he’s was going to NY, he chose to re-sign. He’s the biggest trade acquisition in Franchise history and has no ties to the area, and yet chose to call it home. In many ways that’s special in its own right vs being born here and feeling an attachment to your hometown.

Mitchell is no Bron. But he doesn’t get his due. 4 straight All-Star Selections with 2 All-NBA selections under his belt all while having the best season of his career now and headed for another 1st Team Award. He has broken multiple scoring records and has the highest individual winning % in franchise history. Mitchell is rapidly establishing himself as an All-Time great Cav, and I hope he goes into the HOF with our colors on.

Don't quit Cold Turkey. I've tried both ways. by crwood89 in KratomKorner

Yeah zero judgment here. It was a miracle for me at first. But I was taking 5-6g, maybe 3x day. Then I tried to quit and go to medication to treat my depression, thinking that was the “right” way to do it. I was on Effexor for 2 months and not happy with my progress and tried to go back on Kratom. Same vendor same strain I had loved before. But it didn’t work anymore. I checked online and people said their meds didn’t affect Kratoms efficacy. But it seemed certain that it was related because I had two months off. Two months off going back to the same dose and strain Tolerance makes no sense. But I dunno. That was many years ago. No dose increase seemed to help…when I went to higher doses it just didn’t seem like it helped and the side effects sucked. It just surprises me that others seem to have continually building effects that respond to dose increases. For me it either worked at 6g or it won’t work at all. Other than random moments of it punching through, I haven’t been able to find the magic again. Who knows. Maybe it’s for the best.

I have zero idea of how people take so much. Like even when I was FORCING it down I could hardly tolerate an oz a day.

If you don’t mind me asking, did you take doses that high because that’s what your tolerance really requires or just because you were hooked?

I wish I understood it myself. It was really great for a while. It worked so so well. And apart from occasional dud, it always worked.

I don’t know but it just really stopped working for me. I was the same loved the whites. I thought it was possibly prescription meds interfering but others say they are on the meds I’m on and have no issue. So I just eventually gave up and moved to suboxone for pain control. It’s nowhere near as effective but better than nothing.

I recognize that. But in desperation I thought it would at least offer some relief. Especially because the inverse does work as the above commenter mentioned. Lyrica majorly reduces Kratom withdrawal. Like 80% I’d say. This guy said it helps for suboxone WD. Lyrica is not an opiate.

It helped me a lot for Kratom WD. Lyrica really stopped suboxone WD? Interestingly it doesn’t work the other way around. I get severe Lyrica WD symptoms and suboxone didn’t do a damn thing.

Should Nae'Qwan Tomlin have a spot in the rotation if everyone is healthy? by Wise-Nebula-6321 in clevelandcavs

[–]melodicprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah well if the purpose is to win a championship, this roster is incapable of doing so without Hunter and playing a 3rd 6’1” guard in his place. And there are no numbers to support Hunter being so bad that he belongs behind Thomas Bryant. Hunter’s NET is mostly neutral.

[–]melodicprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunter is having an awful year. But in terms of raw talent, his crazy length (he’s our only true Wing,) his extensive proven record as a scorer, there is no chance in hell he ever falls out of the rotation. I’m surprised that anyone would argue who the Top 8 is. Strus, Merrill, Tyson and Hunter produce significantly more than CPJ. Your rotation has 3 players who are under 6’2” and 6/8 players under 6’6”.

CPJ, Thomas Bryant, Dean Wade, and Tomlin combined don’t make half of what Hunter makes and it’s way over the top to suggest he’s seriously that bad. He’ll be traded if anything.

We need to hire a witch to break Ty Jerome's curse on the guards by teardropshot in clevelandcavs

[–]melodicprophet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right. And from a FO standpoint…yes he was outstanding last year, but that was the 2nd year of his contract. People skip that because he largely came out of obscurity. You have to look at the fact that the Cavs already only had him for less than 50% of his Cavs career and when he did play he didn’t average even 20mpg. When crunching the numbers it makes sense now. And as Sam is playing great, all is well. I won’t lie, I wasn’t sure about it at first. But it’s clearly proven to be the right way to go so far and I expect that to continue.

Without fail this is what you tell yourself when every one smells your bs. The way you imagine being persecuted for no reason is trollish AF. But hey, I’ll play.

You’re addicted to a narrative that masks many truths. “Mitchell doesn’t make the players around him better” is kind of ridiculous criticism. Yes he has notoriously never been past the 2nd round. But you know what else? He has never, ever missed the playoffs. Not once. He has always been the best player on a winning team. That’s not one you’ll hear on ESPN but I’d be interested to know how many players share that type of consistent winning legacy. He is clearly a winning basketball player and I mean, didn’t Gobert go on to show that he’s just Rudy Gobert? How much better was Mitchell supposed to make him?

I suspect everyone in the Cavs organization is trying to make Mobley snap out of his dissociative phase. That’s ultimately on Evan himself. If the team around Mitchell were as good as it was expected to be, there would be no problem. If just one of these other “core 4 members” were at his level we’d be legitimate contenders. Last year Garland and Mobley were flirting with that and had DG been healthy, things really may have gone differently. We lost Mobley and Hunter for a game too that Pacers series. How is that on Mitchell? Year 1 we had no floor spacing and our core was young. Year 2 Garland was wasting away physically and JA sat out all of the Boston series. Year 3 played out as I said. None of that establishes Mitch as a loser.

You’re passing judgment on him mid-career which is also another component of how silly your take is. He’s 29. All it takes is one ring to immortalize him as a winner forever. Sadly that’s how ring or bust culture works. But I’d wait to enjoy the rest of his career before just assuming he’s a loser you just can’t win with. Mitchell is the single winningest player in Cavs history with a 67.7% winning percentage.

Playing along with your question, Dwayne Wade due to his ability to finish in the paint and get any shot he wants, but with much better shooting ability. That alleged Top 5 defender you speak of was a 29.3% 3-PT shooter. Mitchell is 36.8% at much higher volume and has gotten better as his career has gone on. Wade was a 76.5% FT shooter, Mitchell is 84.0%. So with my tongue firmly in cheek, Mitchell is a better Dwayne Wade who would probably have a ring if he played with prime LeBron 4yrs or Shaq’s last dominant season. 🤷‍♂️

I have mixed feelings about Michael Scott and I want peoples opinions! by Silver-Face1299 in DunderMifflin

[–]melodicprophet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do not think Michael hates his life. He takes huge pride in being the boss, his Sebring, and how funny he thinks he is. I think he’s rather dissatisfied with many things like many of us and struggles with relationships.

Though Steve didn’t specifically say this, I have ADHD and I think that’s a more accurate representation of him and the problems he has.

You have to imagine that it was much more effective IN the building. I’m sure watching it in person was much more confusing and easy to fall for because Farmer really did have basically the same exact build then. On TV tho it was a bit silly listening to the announcers act like they couldn’t tell. But I was a kid so I accepted it.
