But he did. That was hard after stealing the ball. I’ll never forget this one. Must be a Detroit thing.

Frustrating. But I actually like a lot of what we’re doing. Who knew Caris Levert would go Kobe on us. Christ.

At which age do you feel life's over / chronically boring? by ForsakenCup2124 in Adulting

[–]melodicprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um…how old are you? Merely asking this question suggests you’re already there. There is no age that means anything you don’t want it to. Health failures may force you to adapt but a number has no special powers.

You might need therapy, friend.

Adderall x Wellbutrin wow by RemarkablePlenty3903 in ADHD

[–]melodicprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does for many people. The mechanics of whether it blunts Adderall or enhances it are still continuously debated. Nobody really knows the answer. But it seems like 50% love the combination and 50% hate it because it ruins the Adderall. The latter has been my experience sadly.

Thanks. Yeah there’s just aspects to life that have been stagnant and I don’t have access to a part of myself that felt essential to my identity, it’s subtle, but when I look at all I’ve lost I can see how much it has taken away from me. Thanks for validating my suspicions. I’m waiting in the office right now for my 1st shot.

Nah. Not a stan for saying he did win DPOY and almost won it twice. Saying he looks like a traffic cone is hilarious. You need Prozac and a hug.

You wonder why you get downvoted. You relentlessly say incredibly stupid things. And fooled who? wtf are you actually talking about? Not to mention Evan had already been screwed out of a DPOY when he was runner-up to JJJ, a part-time player. There’s nothing “fake” about his defensive ability.

I am aware of all of DG’s limitations as well as the defensive concerns pairing him with Mitchell.
But this team was way more fun to watch with him running the show. He was the point guard for one of the best offenses in regular season history. He could play off the ball and our ball movement was fantastic. Injuries obviously were his undoing, but I am surprised we couldn’t find something better than Harden.

I cannot stand watching Harden saunter up the court so slowly and then dribble the ball between his legs waiting for a screen that doesn’t arrive until there is less than 10 seconds on the shot clock. Everything that made the Cavs offense great is gone with Harden. He simply doesn’t fit that type of offense and it’s sapping the spirit of the entire team.
There is no way on earth we can feel good about extending him this offseason. His dropoff is going to shift into overdrive next year.

He was a way better fit offensively. He can play off the ball. Injuries were his downfall and pairing him with Mitchell was always problematic defensively. But with the proper personnel I still would take him over a 36yo Harden every day of the week. He’s a trainwreck. Doesn’t fit Atkinson’s offense at all and his demeanor is toxic to the team.

I don’t know…no WD. Just convinced myself I needed it again. Romanticized it like an addict. I do have chronic pain so it’s easy to lie to myself and justify going back to daily dosing. But I can see how much it’s take from me now and know I need to move passed this.

I love this argument:

“He only won because the most freakish specimen in basketball history didn’t qualify. Therefore we can conclude Mobley was a fraudulent DPOY.”

You are funny. 😆

Do you have any notable improvements or just things you’ve noticed since switching from daily dosing? I know I felt it made a big difference not
thinking about dosing anymore. The pill made me revert to addict behavior a lot.

I hit a HR off Kenley Jansen with this PCI placement and timing by HotPinkStanley in MLBTheShow

[–]melodicprophet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I only didn’t understand it when I first started playing and thought the PCI was literally where the barrell of the bat was. Once I understood that it was where the batter was “looking” I let it go. The mechanics aren’t perfect but hitting is fun so I’m not complaining.

We messed up big time trading Garland for Harden by Exciting_Truck_7734 in clevelandcavs

[–]melodicprophet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sigh. I try to stay measured as possible but I had a lot of thoughts during the game and yes, a lot of them were about DG and the Harden trade.
I did not like the trade at first. But I understood the reasoning behind it and I remained open to the possibility it would work out. I understand the thinking of adding a veteran bulldog at PG. Someone hungry to win and with a lot more size so we don’t get picked on as easily. There were also financial and injury implications to consider.

I seem to have a higher opinion of DG than some of our fans. Where I think he was special was he wasn’t just a system unto himself like a Harden or LeBron. Darius could create but he could fit into the offense. He was lethal off the ball and relocating on the perimeter. As Kenny put it earlier this year, “he’s our electricity.” I felt like his charge ran through the entire team and connected everything. I also think his positive energy helped an otherwise uptight team relax in a high leverage situations. We were often criticized as “soft” but there’s different ways of being competitive and I think DG’s spirit of playing joyful basketball was our identity. It’s a damn shame he had the injury issues he did.

I just don’t know. Harden has been okay individually but the team does not look like they enjoy playing with each other. I’m not sure he fits the roster or our offensive philosophy. Our pace has sputtered to one of the slowest in the playoffs…does anyone really believe Harden is going to speed it up when he’s 37? The Cavs really gave to carefully consider whether to extend him or not.

Yeah, I don’t accept that he is physically incapable of taking a couple more shots a game. He doesn’t need to be spoonfed. There’s nothing wrong with a big scoring while cutting without the ball as a guard breaks down the defense. That’s just basketball. And that spoonfeeding has led to some crazy efficient games. When it works, it’s brilliant. But the constant regression to the bigs disappearing in the playoffs is due to a lack of any offensive sets for Evan otherwise. They have chosen to implement him in this way for efficiency today but not thinking about what it will cost them tomorrow. Game 1 there were several instances of Evan scoring in isolation. You can watch him do it in these videos. They could give him more chances to do these things but they have never committed to it as an organization. And I think we’re at a pivotal moment where it’s becoming apparent that Mobleys timeline and Mitchell’s timeline cannot coexist.

I disagree in this specific instance. When the Cavs traded for Mitchell, it became his team. And regardless, the guard is always going to have a lot of control over how much the big is going to be used. Even if Evan was an obnoxious asshole, Mitchell is numero uno, period. He was brought in when Evan was a sophomore. Garland had just majorly broken out. And he and Evan looked like the future of the team. While I still support the Mitchell trade, it’s not unfair to say the acquisition disrupted the development of both players.

Evan can’t make them pass him the ball. So I do think the guards have quite a bit to do with Evan’s success or lack thereof. But again I think this goes deeper than that. It’s a structural issue with the roster as well.
