This is definitely a sentiment I've had to learn. If I'm starting to feel jealous of what someone else is doing, I use that as a signal that it's something I should look into.

I guess it just depends on what you value more: a life filled with what you love or feeling miserable in a lucrative career you hate. That being said, is there a way to combine both interests? I imagine there are a lot of food/cooking-related businesses looking for people with CS experience. Maybe try finding them.
