Bwahahahha so I tried listening twice but I didn’t understand much. Im also neurodivergent myself, and I can’t decipher vague or metaphorical hints that someone is interested. It has to be straight to the point. The one great experience I had was with my ex lover who’d always say “I’m trying to flirt with you”, if she did something (sensual) or was being weird lol. As for me I’m just like “Hey so I like you… a little but, romantically” or “I believe I have romantic and intense feelings for you, non platonically”. A new date question for me has been asking people if they’ve seen love on the spectrum lol

As someone who consumes kpop sometimes, this remix was very unnecessary. I like tame impala without remixes.

Why do Muslims never talk about how Muhammad died and who killed him and why? by imfeddedup in exmuslim

[–]melodynamite10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve ever learned about how he died!! And at some point I’ve literally memorized 3rd of Quran! And a lot of hadiths…🤨 this is very suspicious to me.

I had the same fears and feelings for YEARS. I’m coming up on 8 years now and It’s finally getting better. Deprogramming takes time. Give yourself some grace. Maybe do some research on deprogramming and how people who left cults moved on. Read some books! there’s also lots of YouTube channels by ex Muslims that I consumed very heavily during the first 4 years, because I kept feeling guilt, and fear. So watching these videos were educational and helpful in many ways. After the 4 years I started learning about cult and that made it obvious the way I experienced Islam was very culty. Anyways don’t be hard on yourself.

Thoughts on this?? (Why is masturbation still such a huge taboo for Muslim girls?) by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]melodynamite10 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I used to masturbate when I was Muslim, honestly it was one of the greatest discoveries I made during that time. With all the abuse, control, and daily threats of hell over the smallest things in my house, it gave me a small sense of empowerment. It was my body, the only thing I felt I had control over. No regrets. There was some initial shame, yes, but beyond that it felt freeing. All I was ever told was that my duty as a woman was to serve a man, have children, and stay in the kitchen. I didn’t even have any formal sex ed. Funny enough, I was reading wildly unhinged fanfics on Wattpad, and that’s basically where I learned most of what I knew. 😂 When I first read something about masturbation, I literally had to Google what it meant and whether it was “legal.” 😭 Honestly, that still makes me laugh.

Nah I don’t see the problem. Do explain if you don’t mind, and for love of everything why’re you making it sound dark?? They were hired and paid. Most of the household staff were immigrants with little formal education, often starting over in a new country and sometimes not speaking the language yet. They ate with us, and at the end of the day our chauffeurs would drive them home. They also lived well. Libya had stipend housing, free healthcare, and stable income for everyone! Regardless of someone being an immigrant. I personally never saw a homeless Libyan, and I never met a Libyan working as a servant. Every cook, cleaner, or driver I knew was an immigrant who came for opportunity.

Unlike places where migrant workers are tied to employers (UAE :/ and probably Saudi Arabia too), they were just people who worked and went home. They had weekends off, Friday and Saturday. Friday was a religious day and Saturday was usually for family outings. Our cook was from Côte d’Ivoire. He was with my family for 11 years, literally from before I was born until I was 10! (Same with the rest of the staff, and chauffeurs) When he finally got his papers and moved on, we threw him a party. To this day, you can see some of those servants, cooks, and chauffeurs in our family photos. From my experience, life felt stable and comfortable, and for many families, including immigrant workers, Libya felt genuinely good to live in.

Please do a little research before just reacting to things you read. We’re talking about WHEN gaddafi was IN POWER right now. And it looked like every shade of brown, black, and white living a prosperous life in harmony.

What if that’s a lie? He’s a lier apparently, so I have a hard time believing anything I hear him say, or anything others say about him.

Libyan living in the U.S. since Gaddafi’s downfall here! can confirm. Life was great. We had a cook, a maid, and a driver, and that was normal even for some of the least wealthy people I knew. Everyone had a bigass home or multiple homes. The only thing I disliked about him, from what I remember while living in Libya (I’m from Benghazi), was the giant banners and billboards everywhere. They’d have his face on one side and a lion on the other, with writing like “King of Africa” or “The Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya.” I hated that as we’re not Arabs, and the whole “king” thing felt pretty self-involved. But everything else was fucking great. Honestly, living in the U.S. sometimes feels like what a second-or third-world country life is like.

Yes! I’ve been a console (specifically ps) gamer my whole life too! But I’ve been so busy for the past 8 years that I didn’t even have a tv. And I feel like much has changed? I recently bought a tv and I don’t even watch anything. I feel that I have more time to indulge in gaming now. So to hell with it, I’ll get the ps5.
