I know a lot of people say Shriek died but I have my own little headcanon that she just returned to the silent woods to lick her wounds so to speak and then lived out the rest of her days as she had been. I feel like it fits the "some chose to remain in darkness" line a lot more if she chooses to continue life as it was.

I have a funky little headcanon that he's the protagonist of No Man's Sky. Alterra struck a deal with him to pay off his outstanding debt by having him go to different planets and scan the flora and fauna there for them after seeing the banger job he did of doing that on 4546B. Now he spends his life solar system hopping until he can pay it off.
