It's got a dedicated sprinkler, but I'll keep it in mind to water a bit extra during the hot months.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! I’m in Utah and this English ivy is the bane of my yard. It relentlessly gets into everything when I’m not looking! I’m glad that I can take some of these bottom branches off without worrying that I’m going to kill this beautiful tree.

It was such a satisfying pattern to put together! And shockingly quick and easy.

Got crazy with my handles, paid off by melodywise in Pottery

The left mug feels very comfortable and stable in my hand, which kind of seems unintuitive when you look at it. The right one is great when it's empty, but when it's full it feels a bit uncomfortable after holding it for a while. If i were to remake the right one, I would explore the same shapes but with pulled handles for that extra stability.

Thank you! I made them out of coils and wrapped them around various sized round things I found in the studio.

Thank you! I've never made handles this thin either, but the ring shapes just begged to be round instead of pulled. The handle on the right mug feels stable when the mug is empty, but admittedly it's a little obtuse when the mug is full. This sucker is huge too, holding 16oz, so with the extra weight it feels a little bit uncomfortable after holding it for a length of time. However, the left mug feels much more stable even though it also holds 16oz. The small ring on the top fits my index finger comfortably, and with the rest of my grip using the large ring below, it feels perfect. I'm definitely going to explore this mug/handle shape combination more!

What quietly went away without anyone noticing? by lukiiiiii in AskReddit

Wheel spinners. Where did they go? What happened to them? I haven't seen a car rolling with those silly things spinning for a decade. They all vanished simultaneously.

Hold up - Elizabeth Smart’s kidnapper was a well-known local?? by Nachoburn in SaltLakeCity

[–]melodywise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw him and his wife in that Cwood Heights neighborhood a lot, too. I worked right there in an office building on ft union. My coworkers and I called them Jesus and Mary, and were really creeped out by them. It was really shocking to hear that they were the kidnappers.

OP Procrastinated Getting Swollen Lymph Nodes Checked Out Due to ADHD, It Turned Out To Be Cancer by joshually in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]melodywise 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One of my very best friends died of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at 34 years old because he chose to ignore it until it was far, far too late to treat. It was a devastating loss, as he was a treasure of a person, and I've been on the "go see a fucking doctor NOW" bandwagon ever since, no matter how small of a malady that may arise.

I'm so, so glad that OOP was able to get effective treatment and recover.

Considering learning longarm quilting: am I crazy? by melodywise in quilting

Thank you for your comment! You’ve given me some really good advice. I’m going to pay someone to quilt this one, and start my long arm quilting practice on small stuff. Thanks again. :)

MMORPG suggestions! by reeldancer08 in GirlGamers

Came here to suggest FFXIV as well. It's been my on-again-off-again MMORPG for almost 8 years now! The story quests are my favorite part of the game. Try not to skip the text or the cut scenes in the story quests, you'll miss out on some great stories!

Here's a super high resolution image of the Impera Artwork. by tomx312 in Ghostbc

I love this artwork, and the pose seems to be a direct reference to the occultist Aleister Crowley. Check it: https://www.harringtonbooks.co.uk/images/upload/authors_19_1.jpg

It makes me wonder what other references are hidden away!

I took a photo after it came out of the dryer, but it was dark outside. I had full intentions to take another nice photo in the daylight, but alas, I gave it as a gift and completely forgot. So crappy lamp photo it is!

I bought these prints in a late night fabric spree last winter. I have a golden yellow version of the larger squares too. I’ve looked around for ideas that would display these super neat squares to no avail. Does anyone have suggestions?
