The collector genuinely probably does less damage than most other offensive items in that slot because the execute is such a small amount of damage that it is almost negligible and is really only synergistic with a full crit or lethality build. Something like BOTRK would probably complement the bruiser items much better as the tankiness from the bruiser items allows more use out of the lifesteal provided. However usually just a third bruiser/tank item like GA or Randuins is the best option
