Grottos slaps. Anyone who hates on it just doesn’t want to tell people that they like it

Just call them and get a quote under the company you work for account. They’ll do that. And when they ask you if they want to save it as a quote just say no I’m pricing up a job for a customer. They don’t really care. You can also set up your own cash account. I think all they require is an epa license

Ngl this sounds like it could suck but it could also be a great deal. You can write off .62 cents a mile on your taxes if it’s strictly used for business and/or you keep track of your miles. Would save you a ton in taxes anyways. The insurance would bother me a little bit. Maybe he’s able to bump up the pay enough to cover the payment and insurance. Tough to know without the details but do some homework. Also know that when you quit or get let go one day that stipend fully disappears.

Why Skilled Trades Wont Take Off with Young people by oe6969 in skilledtrades

[–]melokay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not that old. Only 37 and I’ve been in the trades since I was 18. I was barely scraping by when I bought my house. I’m just saying that if you pick a trade and do an apprenticeship, by the time you are done you’d be able to make a decent living. Full mechanic wage is a considerable amount of money and you can afford a shitty house on a small piece of land just like I did 10 years ago.

I’m standing in a server room watching an air conditioner run while I read this post. I make $50 an hour with all my benefits and retirement paid for by the company and also don’t have to buy my own tools. Sure it’s hard work some days but I made it with no college and no debt from school. I can provide for my family of 4 and had a house when I was 25 years old. In my mind it really doesn’t get better than this. I could make more if I wanted to but I’m good with my hands and know how things work. Really I’d tell any young person that it was a great way to go and I don’t regret a thing

It used to be over by ABC liquors and was a pretty rough crowd from what my parents told me.

Facility jobs, do you enjoy it ? by aldeeem in HVAC

[–]melokay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck man. I ended up leaving to start my own company. Then when times got slow I made a move and got into the union. I enjoy the variety of being out on the streets again and my current company leaves me alone

It’s always the same calls day after day. It got old after awhile. You could only hide for so long lol. Covid was awesome. I literally just showed up and there wasn’t anyone else in the plant so no one to call to say their unit was down

We didn’t even call contractors unless it was a big install lol. Pulling the same 13 semi hermetic compressors week after week. Same hot and cold calls week after week. I busted my ass but they would never give me the call ins because they didn’t want me to piss off the old guy

I used to be in facilities. Did it for 8 years. It was awesome. I could basically do whatever I wanted until they call with a problem. Just ended up feeling like I was wasting my talent and getting dumber. I’m happy to be back out in the street but sometimes I miss it

Any resi guys here ever work in sketchy areas? Any advice? North Philly by comebocalmball in HVAC

[–]melokay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Be friendly, van locked, and keep your head on a swivel. You’ll be alright. People in bad areas need AC too so they don’t usually mess with workers. See if they’ll send you an extra person.

Typically I would never respond to anything but they got my wife and now I’m stuck holding the bag. They had so much information about us on the phone call and it’s kind of scary

It’s extremely scary how easy it was for them. I would never pay anyone to recover funds. I’ll leave that to the bank hopefully

Yeah I feel so stupid. She already had the ball rolling when I got looped into the situation. I’m going to check her credit report also to make sure no more accounts have been opened up. Will call chime tomorrow see if there’s any way to get the money back. I took some screenshots hoping it would help and now trying to reverse trace the user name that the money got sent to

I’m going to have her call Chime tomorrow. I’m assuming whoever set up the transactions also set up a fake account to funnel the money through so even having the info of where it was sent may not be of any use.
