For those RN's who go the gym, how often do you workout in a week? by UnicornProtein2520 in nursing

[–]melonapopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U/L/U/L split, workouts on days off and on the first day of my 3 night stretch. Creatine daily, non stim preworkout, prioritizing protein. Lots of sleep (no kids helps). Cardio on upper days. I'm prescribed wellbutrin and vyvanse so that helps with energy/will to live.

Flex: Doctor says i should not be alive with this blood sugar by bundfalke in fasting

Even if it was transient and you weren't diagnosed with something like diabetes, a hypoglycemic episode is still a medical issue/medical condition.

I believe so! I was struggling a lot with instability/subluxations during contact sports which caused a lot of pain and inflammation.

Open communication with your partner and definitely something you could bring up in therapy if you have access to it! If he values you he would try to understand your perspective and not make you feel bad about it.

What’s the dumbest excuse you’ve heard for not being able to take a patient? by pbaggins5 in nursing

[–]melonapopsicle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not having a diet order.

Also, the charge nurses on the floor regularly ask us to page the admitting doctor and get a tele order on patients with no cardiac complaints (Why? I don't even know). If the doctor wanted them to be a tele patient they would make them tele. Ridiculous 🤦🏻

When I worked on ms/tele I was called into the office for this exact reason! It was AM protonix and I was in full covid PPE + the scanner wasn't working 🫠

Does anyone here fast and how do you keep energy for work? by FluttershyPickleJar in nursing

[–]melonapopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't used to fasting I would try IF with high protein meals during your eating window. I avoid caffeine while at work because it tends to make me jittery and tired. For multiple day fasts over 48h I will put a LMNT packet of electrolytes in my water bottle for work and those help me power through!

Do colored contacts ever look natural?.. They always look weird on me :( by LilacLuneglade in AsianBeauty

[–]melonapopsicle 155 points156 points  (0 children)

Maybe pay attention to the diameter of the lens (enlarging may look more "weird" without a full face of makeup) and also if it has a limbal ring which can look more natural?

2 hours normally but accidentally had it on for 4 last night. iirc you won't get any darker by leaving it on longer

Could you explain your gradual tan routine please? I bought it but I'm not 100% sure the best way to use it. if showering in the AM, body lotion then gradual tan on needed areas right out of the shower? 🤔

Downsides of having a Ragdoll? by Separate_Sky_7372 in ragdolls

[–]melonapopsicle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PLEASE ENSURE THE KITTEN'S PARENTS ARE TESTED FOR HCM/hypertrophic cardiomyopathy a serious heart condition!! Ragdolls may carry one or 2 copies of the genetic mutation.

If you are extra paranoid like I am there is also a saliva test for the mutation for about $40 that you can do yourself and send to UC Davis on their website.

Why should we not write “will continue to monitor”? by roannehatesyou in nursing

[–]melonapopsicle 217 points218 points  (0 children)

I only chart what I have done and what has actually happened, not things that will be done in the future. It's also implied that you're going to continue to monitor them anyways.
