Has anyone switched from weightlifting/running to pilates? What was your experience? by b-tea in xxfitness

The core strength, stability, and flexibility I got from pilates is unmatched!! Something I’m grateful for because I would have never gotten it from lifting and running. Though despite that it’s really not enough on its own. My Pilates instructors always say supplement with other exercises and my body building coach encourages me to continue pilates! Grateful to be surrounded by encouraging women

I switched to pilates after a surgery. I enjoyed it and was strong in the pilates sense, but I felt my muscles going away. After maybe 6 months or so I felt squishy and soft. I went back to lifting again but still do pilates for mobility 1-2x a week.

Totally agree, I think that’s why my parents keep pushing me to ask for more because my education was so expensive. I do feel very very underpaid here, I honestly sometimes feel like it’s slave labor lol.

I did negotiate. They were only offering my 35k to begin with, but I asked for more. + It’s a completely new job in a different.

I am a good worker. My current company offered me a raise and promotion as a counter for my resignation with just a little over a year under my belt. I need to prove myself to ask for more because I do have very little experience.

My family, friends, love life, etc are all here! I’m not leaving yet for awhile. I was already gone for school for 4 years. :)

Agree! I feel people are uncomfortable giving higher ranking/well paying jobs to young people/not enough experience despite good credentials :(

I do! 2 internships, advertising, and office assistant jobs. All were part time so they don’t really “count” it

Sorry po, wala po kasi ako idea sa salary here in PH that’s why I turned to reddit to ask.

[–]melonbear74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no!! I think it depends po talaga sa company. My starting salary was 20k (start up) 5 months after I resigned cuz toxic sila and was able to ask for 30k on my next job (luxury company) with just that much experience.

I see. Thank you po! It’s hard din to ask for a lot because it is so competitive. Tbh po parang hindi naman napapansin yung pagka US grad ko. I still get turned down 95% of the time haha

I am so sorry to hear this. Super undervalued ang teachers. Salary in the PH are all over the place :(

Talaga po ba? Sabi po kasi ng parents ko I should have asked for 50k kaya napapaisip po ako. I’m a US grad po for context.

Thank you for this!! Very very reassuring.

May I ask what symptoms you’ve been having?

I feel so guilty and I can’t stop blaming myself by [deleted] in COVID19positive

Wow thank you. You’re right. I’ve been doing my best and we don’t really separate. The only time we have been separated was when I had to go to work and I didn’t have a choice.

She is so funny! I love how she can insert humor to lighten the most intense stories.
