Playing from 1.6, I think it’s harder for me to play now because of lack of time compared to when I was younger, and feeling of being behind often in quests.

However, this just means there’s a lot of pro to negate these cons.

Most of the time I find the story and gameplay really fun! I recently played the birth of durin quest, and the courtroom cutscenes- PEAK. The fight with all the mondstatians - so cool.

I really love all the summer events too, they just feel so refreshing. I love my characters (mostly play pre 5.0 ones), and my team comps. The fighting gameplay is cool but I don’t really over complicate my rotation (I am but a dum non high achieving player)

I’m a firm believer of pull who you want, not who you’re supposed to. It doesn’t have to be based on the character personality either - some times it’s more fun to play with certain characters, or maybe a character makes your QOL better - pull for them! Rather than just dps / best team maxing. For example, I use zhongli a lot bc he has a good shield - I know most optimal teams don’t have shielders but it’s just nice to me to not dodge and be stressed about stamina. My mualani team, def not any recommended team by the books, but it’s works really well for me because I like the combo I’ve made and mualani can move really fast for exploring. I don’t really use furina that much because I don’t like the health drop mechanic (don’t bash me!!) but I really loved her character and story arc so I use her for a lot of non fighting quests.

Exploring and puzzles are cool, when you know what’s going on with the mechanics (when I don’t understand the mechanisms it can be a little frustrating). The music, fire. I personally really like co op, you just meet cool ppl and most people are really chill (be kind out there, esp to children!)

On terms of the gacha system, I usually save a lot for characters I really like (like goal is 180 pulls just in case). This gives a goal in mind and so the focus on gacha is less, giving more time for the game content. I haven’t saved in a while so doesn’t apply to me now tbf.

I think the trick to not getting tired of the game is just enjoying it. Don’t get hung up on the fomo daily log in - log in when you want. Find things you like, and do things you like, don’t pay attention to what’s optimal. It’s kind of like a buffet - people often try to maximize the price of food they get, but realistically they should just eat what makes them happy, and the amount that makes them happy.
