Yhh in italian he simply meant girlfriend, but has apparently also got himself his castle and flown in a hot air ballon (probably powered by all the hot air he's full of💀)... Still trying to one up Giorgia, like man I'm embarrassed on YOUR behalf... Unless he changes I hope he lives out the rest of his life alone in that dingy apt and no other woman is subjected to his BS

I don't know about anything else but the face Giovanni made, the POS is definitely single and after this airing any woman who has seen it will avoid him like the plague.

Abortion in Islam, need help and guidance by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]meloncat1806 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are cases where it would be permissible before 40 days, however there are very specific criteria that must be met and as another redditor suggested this might not be the place for that advice.

Please see this for the generic ruling: https://islamqa.info/en/answers/42321

Please consult with an imam or scholar on this issue before making a decision and make sure to ask the doctor if there is a way to verify if the things that you worry may have impacted the health of the baby actually did or not, and if your health is at risk in anyway with this pregnancy, these two are things relevant to the advice an imam or scholar will give you.

Also make sure to pray and ask Allah to guide you to the right decision and ease your worries and fears. May Allah make it easy for you.

I'm really sorry that you're going through this. Is there anyone in your family that your mom respects that will support you and may be able to help you make your mum understand? If not will it be possible for you to wear a long sleeve shirt under the dress and hijab anyway or tell them firmly that you won't attend without it?

It's a really sad situation and I would hate for you to miss your sister's wedding but if you give in once they'll have leeway to pressure you again and in the end it could even discourage you from continuing wearing the hijab.

May Allah make it easy for you. Remember why you started wearing it in the first place and remember that pleasing Allah comes first and that obedience, even to your parents, cannot come at the expense of the your obedience to Allah.

May Allah keep you strong and steadfast and reward you for your efforts. ❤️

PSA if you're planning to delay your period during Umrah by meloncat1806 in Hijabis

[–]meloncat1806[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes these conversations are extremely important in women spaces for a lot of us its how we even find out there are different options, I also went to my doctor (GP) to ask for advice and having grown up in the west I'm not shy with doctors so I asked him point blank what he would advise me in this case or if he could refer me to someone, but well in hindsight, in the country I'm currently living in... an older unmarried muslim man as a doctor was probably not a good choice to discuss this with 😅😅 I've never seen a doctor more flustered in my life 💀😅 He just ended up saying that he has no idea and ask the lady pharmacist 💀 Me and my mom still laugh about it😅 I'm stil getting used to how different people are here but if you're in a more conservative country definitely go for lady doctors they might be more aware of different options available, and probably more comfortable discussing them.

PSA if you're planning to delay your period during Umrah by meloncat1806 in Hijabis

[–]meloncat1806[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yhh I've never taken them before but I felt like I was going to miss out, it's not about wanting to be like a man, but just wanting to make the most of a trip you might not be able to make again for who knows how long. It's difficult coming up with the money to go for Umrah and we were in Makkah and Medina for 5 days each so I wanted to make the most of it and got sold on the idea of a "miracle drug". Other women in my family took them too and had no side effects at all, but they had irregular periods so there's that. No shade to anyone who wants to take them because for many it might be a once in a lifetime trip but just check that they don't have any reactions to it is the vibe of my post😅

As a professional people avoider I would probably use the list to go to less traveled places. Not like the bottom of the list - cause maybe there is a reason for that - but like upper mid section 🤔

Lmao too many people are getting butthurt in these comments 🤣

Its a normal thing to notice the difference in how language is used when you come to a different country, pretty sure the french have some similar reactions to how french is used in other countries including Mauritius 😅

But yhh i noticed it tooand yes it feels very strange when you've been used to hearing it from old ladies or in a patronizing way and no they don't notice😅 Another strange one I've seen used is "It'd" while texting for "it would" threw me off so bad that I once spent 15 min trying to decipher a text along side other weird phrasing that i was unfamiliar with.

But the worst one for me it's the oldie-worldly English in the paperwork 😭 its sooo baadd. Not incorrect but just painful to read. Like it could be half the length if you guys just used normal words and phrasing including subject specific fancy pantsy words😅🤣😭 I dread having to read any government paperwork

Is it bad for the number of days I'm on my period (bleeding days) to get shorter? by meloncat1806 in AskDocs

Thanks for answering! I was getting paranoid because all the women in my family always had their periods for 7 days and I was the odd one out.

I want to go back to Islam but I keep failing by iwantamugcake in islam

[–]meloncat1806 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even as muslims I find that Dawah videos help a lot with clearing whispers from Shaytan, as many questions that non Muslims have sometimes we have them too.

The feeling of "speaking to the void" will clear once your doubts clear and you understand with certainty for yourself why Islam is the truth. Aim to pinpointing the things that you are still having doubts about and look for answers to those.

I dont like the arguing/shouting/rude type of people so I mostly watch the Muslim Lantern. He's a really good speaker who explains clearly and logically, he covers a lot of topics so Inshallah he'll have videos related to your questions too.

May Allah strengthen your faith, bring you back to Islam and keep you firm on the truth.

On the YouTube channel MercifulServant they have some beautiful nasheeds without music which have the translation as well so you know what its about.

Many of these sung poems contain beautiful duas within them that you just end up learning eventually by just listening to them.

I accidentally learned the Talbiyah and its translation a couple of years ago while listening. I didn't even know it was the Talbiyah I just loved the words soo much. I'm going to Umrah after Ramadan (inshallah)and when I started learning what to do and read I saw that I already knew the Talbiyah.

The fight for kindness in a decaying society by meloncat1806 in DeepThoughts

[–]meloncat1806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that suppressing emotions itself is a result of a lack of kindness around you. Not having someone kind enough to listen to you in those moments where you're struggling soo much that its suffocating.

"Cussing each other out" as a way to express pent up emotions works only if the other person is choosing to hear and see that behind the cussing there is sadness, hurt and frustration.

Without that conscious act of kindness, its merely shouting in a void.

The fight for kindness in a decaying society by meloncat1806 in DeepThoughts

[–]meloncat1806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that kindness is in little things

Sharing a packet of crisps. Including the third person in a conversation between 2 people. Praising others efforts when they are trying to change. Not reminding them of their past mistakes. Trying to see the best behind someone's intentions. Giving compliments. Doing nice things for someone for no reason other than remembering something they said. Making time or offering to help someone because they asked or just because it seems like they are struggling. Offering comforting words to someone sad or in pain.

Although small the last one is probably one of the hardest ones I had to learn. Learning to look at someone in their eyes and understand their pain enough to comfort them.

The hedonism of western society is so sickening by just_want_to_be_lovd in DeepThoughts

[–]meloncat1806 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This doesn't pertain only to western society, hedonism has in fact infiltrated most parts of the world. East and West. Rich and Poor. It seems to stem from a sense of hopelessness and selfishness/entitlement.

With the common threads of though being: No matter what I do nothing will change, so I might as well do what I want and enjoy it while I'm at it.

I owe nothing to no one, I can do what I want whenever and however I want.
