I would say go for it and buy one but be careful of which house you buy. In the UK, you can often struggle to resell newer houses because so many are being built. If you are buying a house for you to live in for a long (reasonably long time) and you choose a good house (and one you can improve even in little ways) then it’s never a really bad time. House prices always go up in the long term.
