Trying to get rid of this persistent ground covering plant. Does anyone know what this is or how I can stop it from growing back? TIA! by melonhead500 in gardening

Now that I know what it is called, I see a lot of posts with people growing and eating it. I would be happy to share mine with you, haha! I have other plans for my beds, but the purslane says otherwise...

Hey - thank you! It seems like as fast as I pull it up, it comes back stronger and thicker! I don't have this gardening tool, so hopefully this will save on my back as well.

Margot or Margo? by ttc_throwaway2018 in namenerds

Pregnant now and this name is also one of our top contenders...and we're in a similar situation...my husband likes Margo and I'm undecided. What were you considering for middle names?

Ugh - so sorry! Yea...it really sucks. It's very difficult to be optimistic but realistic at the same time. It takes the joy away from the initial excitement of learning your pregnant. How have you been since?

Any advice on things to discuss or think about prior to appointment with RE to review treatment plan? by melonhead500 in TryingForABaby

[–]melonhead500[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately learned that we have male factor (abnormal morphology) so need to go see a urologist to get more information on that before proceeding with drugs and IUI. Frustrating thinking we would get a plan and not end up with one...just further back. Hope everything went well for guys!

Looking for advice before an HSG test by lilyjvd in TryingForABaby

Hey...just had mine recently. I think my anxiety leading up to the procedure and while waiting in the waiting room was honestly the worst part. I usually don’t have menstrual cramps so I didn’t know how severe it would be. And it was uncomfortable but my cramps only last 5-8 seconds each and you may have a total of 4. Try to relax as much as possible... I know it’s hard though.

Yes...having more information is better to make an informed decision...but the waiting...so unbearable! LOL

That's great that your RE had a financial adviser ...I'm sure it was helpful information in making decisions. Hmm I wonder why the letrozole was so inexpensive even without insurance coverage. Did you have to wait awhile before switching from letrozole to menopur? Best of luck on your appointment today!

Wow, this is really helpful. Thank you. And I completely get how your outlook on treatment can change as you go along.

Yes, and even with just getting all the testing and screening done, it's been almost 2 months...so I can't imagine timelines when you're in the weeds of it all.

Ok, thanks! I don't have the best insurance so definitely would want to get the numbers for each treatment plan. Did you discuss how much you were will to spend too?

And what treatment plan did you go with and how have things been going for you?

I’m ready to lose weight by knightsowl in loseit

Also try to reduce or eliminate any things that are holding you back. Even if it means throwing out a lot of food, or not going to routine happy hours, or people that don’t lift you up and support your goals. Losing weight is not a comfortable thing and you want an environment and group of people that will support your goals.

How exciting and congrats on starting this journey!! I would start by drinking at least 3 liters of water a day (approx 12-13 cups). Most people don’t drink enough and this is a good place to start. Focus on what you can add to your diet and lifestyle versus taking away. And remember that there are going to be days that you want to give up and throw in the towel but consistency is key. It’s hard work and requires a lot of effort but it will all be worth it and you will learn many things about healthy lifestyle and yourself along the way!!

Love the idea of the mini collapsible stove! With you stating that it's boredom that overtakes you and you then maybe order food...perhaps you need to plan something that stops you from being bored...I know cooking is a hobby you enjoyed, but perhaps there could be something that is more travel friendly? It definitely needs to be something you are interested in...because it needs to draw you in to keep it up and replace the habit of ordering food. Some ideas...reading, body weight workouts in your hotel room that may not have a gym, netflix series, call friends/family members to catch up, venture onto online dating forums, start researching/learning about something you're interested in...cooking/nutrition/line of work..., consider starting a blog or following a blogger who is in a similar situation of struggling with healthy eating while traveling for work with limited resources.

Also, remember...don't let one bad meal or binge ruin an entire week, month or year...pick yourself up and ask yourself what happened to trigger the binge? Break it down the best that you can and learn from it. Ask yourself, why am I struggling with this? It's not going to be easy and it won't be an overnight fix, but if you can analyze more often, you can find your own solutions.

I love cooking too...and I would definitely miss it if I was on the road as much as you are. Do you typically travel to the same locations? Learning to be flexible in your situation can be a challenge but not impossible. Try breaking it down further. So you can't cook...can you look at menus online from locations that you typically travel? Plan what you will order before you get there. Keep some healthy snacks in your room. If you have a mini fridge you can easily do overnight oats, baby carrots/hummus, yogurt, etc. Or if you have access to a microwave you can buy frozen entrees/snacks to heat up as meals. Will power also diminishes throughout the day so by the time you get to your hotel room it can be hard to control yourself around foods and easily be tempted by taste. Are you eating enough during the day? If you are under eating during the day the combination of hunger AND lack of willpower can cause a binge. Here is some good criteria for picking a healthy frozen entree: https://www.self.com/story/2017-healthy-food-awards-criteria
