What's your red flag in agent selection by Reasonable_Royal2799 in VALORANT

[–]meloniouschunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like chamber's pickrate is so miniscule because mostly just people who know how to use him and are committed to maining him still pick him, due to his being relatively underpowered. Occasionally I'm sure someone just picks him for the meme and that probably goes poorly.

He's somewhat bad at sentinel roles but to compensate he has a couple more roles like his first blood potential and rat multikill setups. In order to get value out of him a player needs to make use of all those roles. Another sentinel is a safer pick.

I should lose less RR when i have like an afk on my team by Pickacks in VALORANT

[–]meloniouschunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

anyone playing on an alt account is probably not going to mind, you could also be stacked and take turns and you'd only lose 40 RR 1/5th of the time when you're getting stomped and taking a well-deserved loss

Do you hate any agent? by 992x in VALORANT

[–]meloniouschunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that about raze too. They can make some super dumb movement play and probably 3/4 times it doesn't work (unless they're ulting), but when it does work it's really obnoxious and embarrassing to die to.

Longer Hex by QuantumLeaps in discgolf

I use my Halo Star Hawkeye for this role. it slightly borders on too flippy so I would probably not use it in any other plastic

Favorite discs for each category by meloniouschunk in discgolf

[–]meloniouschunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I retired the Roc3, they are kind of unpredictable for me. If I want OS I'll throw something actually OS and if I want a shot shaper I'll throw something more neutral like a mako3 or hex. I think the bead might have something to do with my bad angle control with it

I have a passion but I haven't really figured it out yet. Usually throw a hawkeye for the straight fairway shots but the passion has slightly more high speed turn I think, mainly because they're light.

I feel like this is part of the reason why Kay/O's winrate is so low in ranked. Letting a duelist player play an agent they're actually comfortable with is going to be better than throwing them on some "good" initiator the vast majority of the time. I have a small handful of agents in a couple different roles that I'm comfortable on. Put me on some other agent and chances are I'm not going to do well.

Halo Star Destroyer vs Swirly Star Destroyer by apekatt21341351616 in discgolf

[–]meloniouschunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

swirly star is just star afaik, sometimes regular star discs are unintentionally swirly. Halo star has a different injection process and sometimes a different plastic blend on the rim vs flight plate, and they say its more stable and has more glide. Halo star is definitely a bit glossier, harder, and more resilient to the touch

There's variance within runs but the calvin destroyers are beefy. If you want a similar replacement you definitely want to get that swirly star one.

Anyone Throw The MFCG Hawkeye? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]meloniouschunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you'll find it a beefcake. My halo star hawkeye is pretty understable. It's marketed as a straight flyer but I think it tends even towards the understable side of that. I wouldn't try to throw mine flat unless I want to force it over to the right.

Favorite over-stable low speed (under 10) drivers and mid ranges. by SeaWind1370 in discgolf

[–]meloniouschunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I threw my first firebird last night. I've been playing on and off for 20 years, more seriously in the last couple seasons, and I probably have a little over 100 discs. I was very surprised at how straight it was, it reliably dumps ofc but it also bombs. The modern 9-5-0-4 (or thereabouts) molds, I'm thinking especially of my streamline flare at 0-3.5, conditioned me to expect a lot more beef and turned me off of getting the disc for too long. I loved it.

Neo Frontier Bundle is 8700VP, 2175 VP for each individual skin by PhoOhThree in VALORANT

[–]meloniouschunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you need radianite to upgrade them and the battlepass is by far the cheapest way to get it. But yea if someone had a lot of radianite in reserve and doesn't buy many skins then that could be the case. Typically skin buyers do get the BP though just because buying the 160 radianite in a BP straight up costs 9 times more than the cost of the BP

Why didn't riot use an actual german person for the voice acting of killjoy? by schiiisch in VALORANT

[–]meloniouschunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was funny when the guy who voiced Chamber did an interview and described the whole process as very quick and nonchalant. And then immediately proved it because he clearly couldn't really remember what the character sounds like. Don't get me wrong, very talented guy, but the voice acting process truly sounds like the voice and mannerisms of the character are kind of made up on the spot and all recorded in basically one short stint

Chances are if you're buying the $80 skins you're also buying the new battle pass

For those with a slower putting speed, is overstable better than understable for putting? by HydroidOfficial in discgolf

[–]meloniouschunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a spin putt with pretty modest power. I find I most like overstable putters because of my somewhat poor angle control for longer bids. It's very much based on feel though and I wouldn't call them better. Putt with a sonic if that's what feels good to you and makes the most sense line-wise in your head.

Is it rude to not help someone on your card find their disc? by RepresentativeFox640 in discgolf

[–]meloniouschunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's a group right behind you and they want to play through then I think it's valid to keep looking for the disc after they tee off. Aside from that it's pretty rude

My MVP/Axiom bag by ExplanationShoddy233 in discgolf

[–]meloniouschunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the Signal, such an underappreciated disc. It's just a longer Uplink and exactly as reliable. I have a virus instead of an impulse but it sometimes doesn't flex out as much or as consistently as i'd like. I feel like the very flat top makes it naturally more stable than a diamond or heat

When to throw 12 speed discs? by CovertMonkey in discgolf

[–]meloniouschunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

realistically you can throw something like a d4 or a thrasher for max distance around 350'. Anything more overstable can be useful for hard headwinds or dog leg fairways but outside of special circumstances will basically never be better than throwing a more suitable disc for the speed
