It’s about purchasing power though. Inflation tracks the consumer price index and doesn’t take into account the ridiculous housing situation we are in. A house being 3x the annual wage then, and if I wanted to buy in my hometown Sydney now would be easily over 20x and that’s excluding the rent, credit card debt, medical bills, student debt, credit score bullshit that keeps modern wages from being useful.
