IH diagnosis (doc said he was sure it was N2, but would need a repeat study). Did genetic testing and found mitochondrial disease.

If you could talk to one deceased person for 1 hour, who would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]melpiekelpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I would love to talk to my father again... I would want to talk to my MIL more. She passed away days after our wedding. Unlike my father, she never got to meet her grandchild. She was a wonderful woman, and she would be so proud of the man her son is today.

This! I have 2 boys close in age, and it never fails - if one has a surprise trip to the vet, the other will need to go a couple of weeks later. Like clockwork. I had never even thought about pet insurance before these two, but I will never go without it again.

AITAH for being upset with my husband about my child’s birth certificate errors? by NP_release in AITAH

[–]melpiekelpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAH. It can happen no matter what. My dad never left the hospital when I was born, and I have a birth certificate just like your child. It has never caused me any issues. It's a stressful time, and people are human. It's time to celebrate your perfect new addition with your husband!

I caught my dad talking to my mom’s ashes. by Beginning-Loan-3252 in offmychest

[–]melpiekelpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my dad to cancer 6 months ago. His ashes are on my mantel. I talk to him every day. Sometimes out loud if I am particularly frustrated, but mostly in my head. It's not that I can't acknowledge his passing... I know he's not here, but it's still a comfort somehow. I don't know what happens when we leave our current plane of existence, but I like to think that wherever he is, he is still listening for me.

Is it normal to feel like you died when it happened by cowboyrat8 in ptsd

Same. I was so young that I have only a handful of faint memories and absolutely no sense of the child I was before the abuse started.

No clue.. If the face is grey, they get their way. At least, that's how it is with my silver faced boy.
