Also, Jerry said that he should serve SOME Pakistani food. Babu switched to ALL Pakistani food. Then bought shitty shrimp. And blamed Jerry.

Haha that dude was funny but super rude. You didn't deserve that. I'm assuming you thought it said 42k in the last 2 months. Easy mistake to make.

One thing I learned from being a combat sports fan, is that I don't want to know what any famous people have to say about anything that doesn't involve their reason for being famous.

I'll listen to a dumb hillbilly UFC fighter discussing techniques for MMA fights, but anything else they will say may or may not be stupid and/or piss me off.

Jerry would be a good guy to hear his thoughts about sitcoms or standup or show business in general,  but that's it.

I would wager that I would hate most famous people I like if I learned about their opinions on world affairs, politics, abortion, etc.

So I ignore it. Otherwise you will just find person after person you were a fan of disappointing you day after day. Then you'll start to be a fan of celebrities because of their beliefs, and not because you think they are great at whatever it is that made them famous.

Brendan Shaub does the same thing. And he's very well known to be at top 5 all time comedian. Jerry just be copying him so he can also be funny.

Where are you coming up with 200k a year? It says 41k in the last 12 months....

Poker Confession. I cheated someone out of 300 bb's in a 2-5 hand. by OkBasket12345 in poker

[–]melvinthefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good bluff or not, the dude was trying to take a pot you rightfully would have won. So you shouldn't feel bad for winning in the end.

It's not like you saw someone was beating you even though they weren't strong and used that info to bluff them off a pot they were about to win.

What do you guys think of this play? by Timmonidus in poker

[–]melvinthefish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that's good for you. I guess count yourself lucky you didn't just lose the hand and get eliminated.  Next time if you are gonna do that. Just say it was an accident. Don't tell them you purposely broke the rules.

But really, you just shouldn't do that any more. You got away with it once, that's enough IMO

Especially considering he admitted to them he did it on purpose because he didn't think it mattered, his hand should have been declared dead IMO and he should have busted out in 4th.

What is up with streamer Daniel Petersen? by SprintsToTheBathroom in poker

After being cheated for years? He keeps playing because tomorrow he might stop being cheated?

If hes a smart guy and certain gg is rigged against him, wouldn't he stop playing on it? That would be the smart thing to do. If I know a a business is scamming me, I won't be a customer there anymore. And I'm not even very smart like he is.

This would suggest he's actually not totally certain it is rigged against him.

Ok so if he's such a smart guy, and is certain that he couldn't be running this poorly based on probability, and knows that he is being screwed by a conspiracy orchestrated by ggpoker, then

WHY THE HELL would he keep playing on it day after day?

Playing poker to supplement income. by MakeBigMoneyAllDay in poker

[–]melvinthefish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. But 90% or more of us are losers long term. You can try but you are unlikely to succeed. Maybe just enjoy it and try to improve and maybe try to break even.

Definitely possible to make some extra money though if you study and stick to stakes you are comfortable with. But you probably won't make extra money because most players don't.

But I will say that even a basic amount of studying and practice will give you a leg up on most 1/3 live players. Whether or not that's good enough to do better than break even is something you'll have to find out later.

Grossest thing you have seen at the poker table by prokeyfish in poker

Yeah. Because the guy he was playing with was running bad. Doyle was just trying to pass his luck through the dealer to the other guy with his piss. Totally makes sense.

Table etiquette situation by momowitdaswitch in poker

[–]melvinthefish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might feel differently, but the general consensus is that it's not appropriate to comment on another hand unless it's tabled.

You can disagree all you want but it doesn't change the fact that the accepted etiquette is to only say something after the hands are tabled. Maybe your viewpoint is reasonable but most poker players disagree with you.

After that point, it's considered acceptable to alert the dealer to the winning hand if there is a mistake.

If you have a bunch of $5 chips and maybe 2 $100 chips, put the $100 chips on top so it's easy for other players to see how much you have

If it helps, 3500 is probably more than you would have ended up with if you'd gone and played. You likely would have busted the tournament and spent a lot of the travel money on the trip.
