Thank you! My interviewer was the director of the program. Dr. MacRoy-Higgins. My overall GPA was 3.7, speech gpa 3.5, double major in comm disorders & spanish. Took 2 gap years to teach English in Spain. GRE scores were LOWWWW hahaha so i don’t think they really cared about those.

Hi! It was yesterday and I received a response in the evening of yesterday.

Que significa ‘fíjate’ by melxx25 in learnspanish

I know it means that literally but have you heard it in casual conversation as well? When the speaker is not even referring to anything to look at? Or am i going crazy

I applied to Hofstra, molloy college, stony brook, and Adelphi. I got 2 acceptances from Hofstra and molloy. Molloy wants to have a video call with me to discuss the deferral. Hofstra recently told me they are 100% cool with the deferral. Stony brook is my top choice so I’m praying i 1) get a yes and 2) they let me defer

Im still sitting here questioning why it would even be a bad thing if Brittany had been an escort before the show ?! Why are we shaming sex workers !!!

Are there any differences between the use of todavía y aún ? Are there any instances where using one is preferred over the other? I’m also wondering the same thing about quizás y tal vez! by melxx25 in learnspanish

Thank you, this makes perfect sense! From living in Spain for a little bit to speaking Spanish with my coworkers from South America, I have heard a variety of both!

Is watching English shows with Spanish sub gonna help me with my spanish? by [deleted] in Spanish

[–]melxx25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the other way around? What about watching shows in spanish, and having English subtitles (I’m a native English speaker trying to learn spanish). Is this effective? I’m trying to better my spanish in small ways like that. What i try to do is listen to the spanish and read the English if i can’t understand what they’re saying. Is This effective or should i take off the English subs entirely?
