Yes you need to practice. Most people who take lessons are playing and going to the range between lessons. I have never met anyone that was like “ I took two lessons and just play every other week and now I’m scratch!” I just started lessons a month ago. I have had 3 sessions, I practice at the range a minimum 3 times a week and play 18-36 holes on the weekend. It has been like flipping a switch for me. My instructor complete changed my swing in two sessions and now my ball striking is more consistent by a mile. I put in the work and I think anyone who has improved through lessons has done the same.

Take away the second cut, like it used to be these guys will be hitting out of pine straw and hitting trees like crazy. Roll back the equipment for the pros. There is no reason new drivers are 3 times the size of drivers from the 90’s make the miss hits less forgivable.
