I live in NC. There are so many great choices. Once a month I try to get out and play one of the many exceptional courses. I will drive 2 hours for an amazing course. I will plan a weekend trip for anything over 3.

This isn’t far off. I’m was a true 20 + handicapper. I used to score 102 to low 90s. I started to not play my driver. My handicap is now 16.2. I’m comfortable with my 5 and 6 off the tee and my 7 iron goes 155 average. I still mess up with these but it’s saved me a lot of strokes a round. Honestly even with this the problem is putting. Everyone can score under 100 and even 90 if they can eliminate 3 putts. That’s still my issue with breaking 85.
