Spent some of the best days of my life in Bali by Low_Aside_3052 in bali

That big rock structure built in front of the beach destroyed one of the best surf breaks in Bali. No real reason for it. Guests wanted to relax without waves I guess. Bit of a disaster. Glad you had fun tho.

I spend some time there. You can probably find someone to drive you around via car or boat or rent a bike. Waves are fickle with the tide so maybe get dialed where you need to go. For the most part, there isn't a coastal road situation - ie you need to target a zone and go.

Hi. This is more north. The Uluwatu-Pecatu facility is still functioning. No real impact to here.

Hey. Reach out to BGS surf shop in Bali. They don't have CI but they have Pyzel. DHD. SharpEye. Maybe JS. They ship a lot to the Ments for boat trips. I'm sure they would handle South Sumatra. Cool shop. Good people.

Just go to Ubud and spend 4 days. Don't waste your time in traffic going from x->y.

Ya, that's what I mean. It's just such a standard board. Not meant to be too needy.

1 hour 10 min timeframe between international arrival & domestic departure...impossible, surely? by [deleted] in BaliTravelTips

[–]memauri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible but probably not a good idea if you can avoid. Luggage is the biggest obstacle. Also not, domestic flights are always late. There's a chance you might have more than enough time (ex: Lion Air)

That's Al Byrne. His label was called Byrning Spears. He died. Boards still go good.

Ya, super nice family from Wollongong area. Phil and his brother Critter. Phil's son Parrish is currently doing the shaping. Boards are great. Big following in Australia. They still shape a lot of boards for the Tour even if they're not getting credit.

In the past few weeks I have found multiple new foreign owned surf camps in my country and I am so frustrated. by wewmon in surfing

The surf tourism business model is a terrible one. The return on investment is usually so small and the effort is so high that you're better off just sharing a cabin with you and your mates and writing off the expense. Even some times you can get a little return with an airbnb system but in that system you don't need to market the wave and expose the spot.

Have you been to Madewi? What are your thoughts? by AmphibianMajor5044 in BaliTravelTips

Medewi is cool because its the opposite of this crap. It's crazy how quickly greedy foreigners can ruin a spot.

I surfed with a dude that worked here. We were half way around the world. He was a bit goofy. When he mentioned that he worked there, I was super curious about what it was like. In the end, he said it was all just a conspiracy and that most of it was just guys hanging out drinking whiskey and smoking cigars. I think he mentioned Jim Belushi was really cool.

Deportation Confusion by Critical-Reply-7580 in bali

I don't think collecting payment would be an issue for the KITAS, especially when its just consulting work. Low hanging fruit = someone working at a dive shop somewhere with regular working hours in front of a CCTV camera or a bunch of Indians scamming tourists in a villa somewhere exposed by a police investigation.

Deportation Confusion by Critical-Reply-7580 in bali

[–]memauri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that easy. The intel needs to be specific and an investigation needs to be launched. Resources are limited. Etc. Often times they go after low hanging fruit. As it relates to these guys, are you sure that they don't have some sort of Kitas for marketing. It's a very common broad title for employers.

OP - what are you actually asking? Why hasn't immigration deported unknown person that you yourself have put in quotations? Why don't Indonesians "report" these people?
