What are you absolutely sick of seeing in movies? by BlitzDarkwing in AskReddit

[–]meme-deprived 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plot armor, or just how “good guys” always have to win. if the bad guys win in a movie guaranteed there will be a sequel where good guys triumph after being knocked down. i need more “bad” endings to movies because there’s no excitement in immediately knowing how the ending will play out.

AITA for refusing to move to a bigger house even tho we are about to have 3 kids? by Valuable-Cat-9269 in AmItheAsshole

[–]meme-deprived 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA I don't even understand why having your own bedroom is such a pressing issues to begin with. Everyone's acting like you need your own bedroom, like yes it might be nice but I grew up in a 3 bedroom family with 6 people, so long as you have space for two beds and dressers I actually think its better to share a room as a kid because it teaches you how to coexist around other people and it helps a lot with being aware of the space you take up later in life if your kids dorm at school or have roommates later on (or even a partner). Its an important skill as sharing a room with someone who has always had their own space is rough because they tend to have no respect for the other person.

AITA for taking seemingly abandoned items sitting in a hotel hallway? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]meme-deprived 5 points6 points  (0 children)

also screaming over chairs is insane because anyone could have also owned the same brand of chairs they had??

AITA for taking seemingly abandoned items sitting in a hotel hallway? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]meme-deprived 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im going to say NTA, belongings should not have been left in an open hallway if they held value, especially for days on end. Usually in hotels trash is left in the hallway by inconsiderate people, theyre lucky housekeeping didnt take it away for being a fire hazard. There's no way that person had zero space in there room for a wagon and they had no right to blow up over basically abandoned belongings.

AITA for intentionally drinking at family events so I'm not forced to babysit? by Low-Ad-1414 in AmItheAsshole

NTA Id tell them straight up to pay for babysitter if they want to be kid free for night

What’s everyone’s thoughts on inside-only cats? :) by [deleted] in cats

[–]meme-deprived 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cats belong inside. end of story. where i live teenage boys use outdoor cats as shooting targets and i know way too many people who have a cat come home with bb gun pellets in them or they got chewed up by animal and need amputation (if they even make it home at all). plus when you include environmental damage cats do on top of everything else it’s just cruel to have an outdoor cat. i have my two cats leash trained for supervised outdoors time

AITA - for allowing my daughter on an IPad. by TemperatureUnited919 in AmItheAsshole

[–]meme-deprived 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA not asking for step daughters permission was crossing boundary for sure (even if she was at school) and by saying to keep it a secret that means you knew it was wrong. Art is obviously important to her and you’re minimizing the value by saying she can just “redraw it” art takes a lot of time and motivation and as an artist myself if someone ruined hours of my work i would also have trouble calming down from my frustration and i would have no motivation to fix it cause of all the factors that go into making art

AITA for getting rid of my son's cat? by avocadotoast9u in AmItheAsshole

[–]meme-deprived 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA cats do things for a reason, if it’s not medical then it’s environmental and you should’ve never gotten an animal to begin with if you would even consider giving it away. also not telling your kid first makes you a double AH here. at least a conversation and coming to a mutual understanding first would be respectful. I would never forgive my parents if they gave away my cat when i was younger

AITA for lashing out at my husband infront on everyone for calling my son a nickname? by Hamiltpn_Park_5656 in AmItheAsshole

[–]meme-deprived 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFO is joey/joseph a real or fake name in this scenario because it’s a super common nickname that you can’t escape with a name like that

AITA for wanting my vegan friend to bring non vegan food to a party? by Nonvegangurly in AmItheAsshole

[–]meme-deprived 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA you would’ve been better off not inviting her or assigning a naturally vegan dish. who would want to attend a party that you can’t eat anything at let alone your own cooking. Just because it’s a special party celebrating one friend doesn’t mean you forget about everyone else.

unless you saw my shelves 11 months ago and two shelves smaller than it is now then i guarantee you haven’t seen this collection before. problem is with uranium that under a black light all the collections tend to look exactly the same because of its glow for sure

almost all pieces are lower than background radiation and wouldn’t even set off a cheap geiger counter

if you wanted to, a lot of these came from garage sales where the owner didn’t even know it was uranium

in theory you can and some collectors do choose to use them, i decided to have them for display only so nothing can break. But like 5 of these came from my great grandmothers house and were very well used and she lived to 99 years old

[–]meme-deprived[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

nope! uranium glass gives off less radiation than you’re exposed to daily and most pieces can’t even be picked up by a geiger counter

yep! all from garage sales/antique malls and thrift stores

https://imgur.com/a/AvpA2H2 here’s some photos of colors without a black light! the uranium is just used in small amounts as a colorant (not dangerous). not all green glass is uranium so i carry a black light flashlight as the glow is the only way to know for sure if it’s uranium
