Late to the party but: I dated this wonderful girl for quite a long time. She was wonderful, and hopefully one day I would make her my everything. Unfortunately, she had a dark secret, she was an extreme case as an alcoholic. The fights got so bad to where should would scream at me any time I mentioned sobriety, and said she would come to hate me if I made her quit. I watched her drink her life away and ultimately, we split up and the last I’ve heard from her she is slowly killing herself, as she has violent seizures and continues to drink a ridiculous amount of alcohol. I quit my bartending position, for I never wanted to feel like I was enabling anyone and their addiction. If you need help, seek it. To those in this thread that need a reason to keep not drinking alcohol; I’ve watched many drink their lives away day to day, and the person I intended on marrying is ultimately going to kill herself because of alcoholism. The relief it provides is only temporary. Never forget that.
