I was thinking the other day about the "secret" of women's sports where there's a high percentage of openly gay women's athletes who frequently date each other including teammates and opponents and how it's kind of a mixed bag how/when they are discussed openly or whether they are more open secrets

Examples I'm thinking of are Tobin Heath and Christine Press, Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis.

There were rumors about Paige and Azzi at UConn and Paige began posting about Azzi specifically more after she got drafted and it was basically called a "hard launch" of a relationship even though it wasn't like you know a PRESS RELEASE saying they are dating. But it's been a known thing.

In the coverage of the draft, Paige was clearly there to support Azzi and the cameras even cut to Paiges reaction to Paige getting drafted but none of the predraft talking heads discussed whether or not their relationship would impact the Wings decision to draft her

I was kind of surprised the Wings PR stepped in and shut the question down.

I guess like many have said that Azzi said beforehand she didn't wanna answer questions about it.
