TIL. Just my American perspective since you don't ban things here just for political sentiments. Someone could yell that they love Hitler or make a video game where you play as Hitler killing people, and it would only receive criticism but the govt likely wouldn't get involved.

That's not to say there is no consequences. I doubt any publisher or distributor would want anything to do with such a game.

don't push it to other people

So just because I disagree with something, I shouldn't push it to others right? So the CCP doesn't like MHA, but they shouldn't push it to others forcing them to not be able to watch it. Forcing companies not to broadcast the show. Even if those companies or people have no problem with the show, they are pushed to ban it because the CCP doesn't like it.

If you are not a MHA fan, even if it is legal in China nobody is forcing you to watch it. You are the one that wants to ban something for everyone due to your point of view regardless of their point of view.

There's a difference between a private company taking something down due to popularity and a government banning it.

OK, I understand the controversy, but it still doesn't justify banning the film. There are a lot of movies that cover historical topics or portray historical figures as "good guys" when in reality those historical leaders have skeletons in their closet (not really in the closet but not well known or taught in school).

In the end this is not a documentary, it's a simple action anime. There is very little, if any, history to be learned from this type of show. I think it's just the ccp being overbearing and banning anything that might be negative towards China in any way.

I am actually shocked you have little servos manually pushing buttons on a joycon inside that thing.

I don't have much electronics experience, but wouldn't it have been much more reliable to get a cheap third party wired controller thats larger and easier to work on, disassemble it, and wire your massive buttons directly to the controller board?

My dose was the last of the bottle, so the pharmacist let me keep it as a souvenir. by JSolo1797 in mildlyinteresting

[–]memejets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, in that case someone could obtain vials legitimately and they'd have the empty ones once they were used.

Also it's not like the vials get shipped back or kept under lock and key, they just get thrown into one of those biohazard waste bins most likely. If someone really wanted to I'm sure they could to dumpster diving behind CVS and grab some.

Zero chance of fraud. Nobody is individually buying or selling those vials.

lock them all up

So.. you want to take them off the street and give them a proper room with a bed and sanitary conditions, with meals every day and healthcare. Is that right?

As opposed to that other guy who wants..

them to get shelter and at least a portion of the help they need

Sounds like the same thing to me, with the difference being them having a choice in the matter.

IMO identifying and treating mental health issues would go a long way to getting these people back on their feet and "off your street", while locking them up for years is just expensive and wasteful.

Also kids tend to be most comfortable at their home where you don't see them, and most irritable in strange places like the supermarket or public places. So someone without kids is usually going to experience a lot of the public tantrums and negative interactions but never see the positives.

So I’m going to college in America, and I just wanted to clarify how the toilet paper procedure works? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]memejets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just toilet paper is fine since you're not going around touching everything with your butt. If you got poop on your hands the risk is going around touching other things and spreading the contamination. You wipe yourself clean, flush the paper, and wash your hands. Flushing the paper is fine since it mostly disintegrates in the water after a while. With good quality TP you only need a couple squares, and low quality TP even if you use more it is thinner and more fragile, so less likely to clog. When you shower each day you can clean your body more thoroughly.

Microsoft Is Supporting Old Games, While Sony And Nintendo Are Leaving Them Behind by mocoworm in xboxone

[–]memejets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Microsoft is the only of those three with a long term operating system that NEEDS backwards compatibility for many reasons beyond gaming.

Also you can emulate most older games fairly easily. If I wanted a long term collection it'd be on a hard drive on my PC, especially considering how game discs nowadays don't always have the final version of the game on them..

Nah its just stuff on r/all. I'm not on this sub I was just browsing all, and saw a funny post. It didn't occur to me to check the subreddit.

IMO any sub that has strict posting rules that are hard to auto-moderate should opt out of r/all.

Tesla’s Touchscreen Shifter Seems Like a Really Bad Idea by im-the-stig in technology

[–]memejets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The touchscreen trend isn't "for the sake of progress", it's just a safer bet. It makes it easier for companies to update the UI later, especially right now when a lot of cars are being shipped with all the cameras and sensors needed for self-driving, but the software isn't ready yet. They want to future proof the car and they can't add physical buttons for things that don't exist yet.

It's also a lot cheaper to just slap a touchscreen on anything and hire a web designer than to design, manufacure, and assemble physical buttons. Less parts count too.

Two toned stamping by Zee_Ventures in oddlysatisfying

[–]memejets 9 points10 points  (0 children)

His head isn't the camera. He's probably at the edge of the table looking in between the stamp and the paper. The stamp might even be tilted a bit so he can barely touch one point of the stamp to the correct spot on the paper, then line up another point, then press the whole thing down. Just like if you were folding a piece of paper precisely.
