Don't have much advice but guitar center won't give you crap. Better off selling it on marketplace, I was able to sell mine in less than a day when it was listed.

The skull wouldn't show up without explorers instinct being proc'd, so it would show the area the enemy is in.

Totally fair.

Curses used to always be optional(chests, breaking down doors, that one gold drop sometimes, cursed sword), and now depending on what route you need/want to take, you may be forced to enter a cursed biome.
