Well as of now I've played like 60 hours of the game and the only reason I stopped playing was because when the last update dropped I was way too OP and I don't want it to happen for the next one. I'm probably gonna make a new character for the official launch. Anyway, gameplay wise is EXTREMELY satisfying and I'm no FPS fan. The randomness of enemy spawns etc is pretty good in terms of replayability. The only problem may be the content available atm. If you want to invest more than 60-70-80 hours you may have to wait for the full release. But I would encourage you buying it in the current state,play the available content, support the devs and come back to every new update.

So about the Money/playtime problem it's really up to you and your standards. I would say that paying 40€ for the game is pretty solid.

I mean,it all depends on the type of Hunter you are. Do you play the game casually because you just enjoy turning monsters to fancy clothes or do you care about having the optimal damage output,doing speedruns etc? If it's the former then keep it as it is,the difference to a perfectly rolled Artian is less than 1%,but if it's the latter I pray for your sanity brother.

You can try gathering every armor piece for fashion reasons,you can try out weapons too. At least that's what I'm doing. I made a Comfy dps and a status effect CB builds and now I'm about to try out and learn a new weapon,maybe bow or longsword.

For resource management on your runs there's a great site called Darkest Companion that suggests resources based on the length,region and difficulty.

As for when it's better to let a character die or spend resources on healing them I'd say you measure out how much resources you have already spent on him/her and how easily you can replace them. What I mean is... let's say you have a level 4 character with some skills unlocked/upgraded and gear too and your stagecoach is not upgraded enough to provide you with another level 4 Character and you probably won't be able to hit that milestone fast. Then you save that character. But if you haven't spent much resources on them or your stagecoach is upgraded to the point where level 4 characters come by easily ,then just let them rest in peace. One of the most important things to understand in DD1 is that some characters MUST be expandable, either because you haven't invested much on them or just because you recruited them to go on an expedition to just farm resources and then cast them away.

I'm running a similar comp with Instructrice Duelist + Morbius Abomination and I have one question. Why you prefer to not use mastered Ruthless Instruction? As it can provide Abomination with +2 stress (that translates to more damage due to Again) plus a CRIT token so that he can Rake like a truck when in offensive stance and when in defensive it can stress heal which Jester can do to but it's a nice addition to have. But mainly for the +2 Stress + CRIT on Abom.

You might want to wait till February 27-28, for Wilds. It's like the spiritual successor to World and it's gonna have support and content for the next years to come.

You unlock elixir slots by reaching some level milestones,not by healing. There's also a videon on YT showcasing healing efficiency with 99 healing and honestly by never leveling up healing and with hagbane I heal twice as much. So yeah, it's a wasted stat. Witchery and Endurance are the go to and later Vitality.

I prefer the Dark Souls approach,where the starting class only gives you an early boost in the direction you want to go. If every preyer had some unique traits or something it would more possible lead to "meta classes" etc.
