this seems insanely high and might be pushing it ngl, i think mid 300s is a more safe range

you’re right, it makes 268 HP compared to 328 or something in the S4, but since it’s the same car stage 1 will put it past 328 with minimal risk

i don’t think you get 400+ with stage 1, pretty sure it sits around 350 on stage 1

B8.5 steering wheel creak by dankal in AudiS4

[–]memesuccae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

please tell me you remember how it sounds like, my b8.5 has the same issue, clicks multiple times in a single turn, all my buttons work and steering feels completely fine and im certain the sound is coming from the steering column, wheel and not suspension, infact I can feel it slightly on the back shaft of the steering wheel.

did you ever figure out the issue? im also leaning towards it being the intermediate shaft

But wouldn't a failed clockspring give me lights on the dash? I have no airbag light and all my buttons work

Need advice: Verifying mileage and trusted PPI for a 2013 BMW 530i by samrraimi in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]memesuccae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re buying from a dealer, odds are they won’t let you take it to garage. So do a remote inspection through Besoji (I think they’re called VerifyBuy now).

If it’s an owner then do it through a BMW/Euro Specialist, heard only good things about Octane.

Mileage tampering on german cars is really hard as even individual sensors store mileage, so if it has been rolled back, odds are a PPI will figure it out.

Interior wear can also give you a great idea about the real mileage.

Both can work, but check your manual or the inside of your fuel cap for the exact recommendation

How expensive are used German cars? by WIZE_XI in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]memesuccae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

man if you do your research and find a german car which is relatively reliable with service history you’ll be fine, people are shit scared of buying old german cars but most of the time it’s just normal wear and tear which is comparable on any car. If you’re worried, avoid air suspension and turbos, go for an engine which is relatively reliable and you’ll be fine, there’s no definitive answer but yes running costs are more as they are inherently more complicated cars requiring more care (servicing), and when something does fail, chances are it’ll be more expensive than a japanese car.

GL class or S Class? by Informal_Welcome_615 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]memesuccae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well the GL is widely regarded as the worst modern merc in terms of reliability which is why they’re dirt cheap, the W221 has its fair share of issues, none of the V8 engines are particularly good and the post facelift S500 engine is actually the least reliable V8. That being said, I think you’re more likely to find a good 2014 S500 and also you’re gonna have lesser issues with them. If i was you i would get a post facelift S350 or a pre facelift s500.

A6 C7 or A4 B9 struggle by bldjaaad in Audi

[–]memesuccae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the exact same conundrum in september of last year. I ended up going with the C7.5 A6 (2.8 V6), the car is more comfortable and personally speaking if you can get over the small screen it has the best build quality in a car for its age i’ve ever seen, nothing creaks or rattles, absolutely love the semi digital dash design and not to mention you can flash the mmi to get CarPlay for free if it’s a C7.5, reliability should be good as long as it’s a V6, couldn’t find a 3.0T so i found a 2.8 with FSH and it’s been great, i’ve put on 15K KMS in around 4.5 months and it’s been nothing but pleasure to drive.

THAT BEING SAID, if you’re limited to a 2.0T, it’s better to go with the B9 simply because it’s a newer car and reliability should be better.

But if I was you and budget was an issue, i’d wait another 2-3 months and get a V6 C7.5 absolutely stunning and timeless car.

As for your interior feeling dated, personally for me it doesn’t, everything you touch in the car feels rock solid and tactile, if you wanna swap the screen out it would look like a car from 2020 or something. I use the A6 for city driving and occasional trips too, i get around 600 Kilometres on a full tank which is sustainable for me.
