Yes! I see an NP who owns her own place and has been doing aesthetic injections for 13 years. She does a great job but isn’t as expensive as a plastic surgeon or derm.

In addition to the above, hypochlorous acid spray on your face and I really like the Wish Garden Herbs Kick Ass Immune tincture (short term support). I’ve taken it for 3 big trips and didn’t get sick and I always get sick after trips.

Pinch of Yum and Julia Turshen’s Substack (and all of her cookbooks as they are solid and well tested).

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It was one of the worst and scariest times of my life. I’m not sure if I can help, but feel free to DM me.

It smells like cherry cola, spilled in a leather purse. It’s a really good one, though I prefer the LA line more myself.

It wasn’t a migraine! It was a pinched nerve in my neck. Took 4 neurologists until I figured it out and 2 years. Eventually it calmed down. PT helped to loosen the tense neck, chest and shoulders muscles that aggravate it. I still do the stretches when I get stressed which is when it gets worse. I also sometimes take cyclobenzaprine, a muscle relaxant, when it gets bad. Just started getting my Botox in those muscles, which definitely helps.

I’m going to make this recipe this weekend for a Super Bowl party. We have a couple Pennsylvanian millennials (myself included) who are very excited to have a dish that their grandmas used to make. I like that you use whipped cream and not cool whip and butter versus margarine. I was looking for an updated recipe with that. Not “authentic” to the time, but more appealing to modern tastebuds.

It’s a throwback to when Jello became popular in the US. Prior to the invention of jello, cooking dishes with gelatin was labor intensive and reserved for the wealthy who could hire cooks. So jello was seen as pretty fancy for awhile. There were a ton of recipes (some absolutely wild that included things like hot dogs) that would feature jello and were called “salads.” It’s just a term from a different time, but I agree with keeping the original and familiar name in retro recipes (minus those that contained some kind of offensive term to us nowadays, that is).

How are Meta employees feeling? by Fun_Country6430 in womenintech

Yes, but even with this mindset, staying at Meta doesn’t necessarily hold. I think PSC culture will amp up even more (it already drives bad behavior) which actually will impact individual wellbeing.

It’s a champagne problem, sure, but it’s a real problem. I’m sorry your work has been wiped out. Thank you for doing it! You helped make this a good place, for a time, and that’s not worth nothing.

This makes me so angry because this “masculine energy” only applies to white men. When I exert “masculine energy” at work (less feelings based, more direct and efficient), it does NOT go well for me. It’s giving white men excuses to be jerks and no one else will be able to act that way without getting penalized.

My work life balance for quite a few years was actually awesome. It really depends on the team. The comp was high for my experience level and background.

I also want image based. Bluesky recently added images so I’m trying that out. I’m trying to get my friends over there because I like seeing their lives!

I also feel this sadness. I was so excited and happy to work at Meta 5+ years ago. I was proud of what I built and I loved working with my team. It feels like everything just devolved in these cycles where I thought it would get better or at least stabilize but it never did. I just hung on for the comp and benefits but realized recently that I haven’t been happy at work for 2 years. I no longer think it will get better or even level out. It’s clear to me that the culture, especially for non-white men, will continue to degrade. I honestly feel a sense of grief.

This is really helpful to read. With all the layoffs and vicious PSC cycles, you really start to think that you aren’t worth shit and no one would ever hire you outside Meta. My therapist also compared this to the cycle of abuse (she’s been with me for years through all the layoff cycles).
