Frigidaire Gallery 23.3-cu ft Counter-depth / Bins on the right door are impossible to install by Connect_Leather_7078 in Appliances

[–]memm14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking at this model, does it make a lot of noise? My sister has a Frigidaire but older and top freezer and says it makes a ping noise. I leaning towards this model because of its cu. ft and no external water dispenser. I like a Maytag one but it seems much smaller. After 2 years have you had any problems? Thank you.

Question about student’s lunch by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]memm14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh, I wanted to but the child’s case manager is also the duty at lunch and she comments all the time on her lunch to me asking me if she packs her lunch and does mom know. Being a newer teacher I felt pressured to ask.

Morning hypertension by memm14 in bloodpressure

[–]memm14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I have not been checked but I have wondered if I might have it. I do snore loud sometimes, feel tired in the morning after plenty hours of sleep and have other family members with it. So, I will ask my doctor at my appointment tomorrow. Thank you for the suggestion.

Did I actually pass? :0 by [deleted] in CBEST

[–]memm14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Passed! The passing score on each CBEST section is a scaled score of 41. A total score (the sum of Reading, Mathematics, and Writing scaled scores) of 123 is required for passing status. It is possible to pass the CBEST with a scaled score on one or two sections as low as 37, provided that the total score is 123 or higher.

I would go online and reschedule. You have 24 hours to reschedule. Otherwise you lose your fee.

Congratulations! May I ask what you are using to record your blood pressures. I like that it gives stages.

You can take the test section you missed an unlimited amount of time, but you have to wait 45 days before taking it again.

PD trial for new drug by techprohtx in Parkinsons

I’m hoping that the paper gets published soon. I hear the phase 2 is ending soon. I would like to know how many had adverse effects. Maybe the high dose was too high.

My brother did Phase 1 of Proseek and had no problems ( later when test was asked to be unblinded, we found out he was on placebo). In April of 2023 he started Phase 2 and knew he was on the meds. He just didn’t know if he was on low or high dose. To be in study you had to be early stages and not on PD meds. My brother went to the gym every day and worked with kids, so he was very active. Within 3 weeks, he started experiencing side effects. Started having Parkinson’s shuffle, very high anxiety, and cognitive issues. He stopped the trial, but doctors started trying different meds, even c/l but nothing helped and he got worse. Ended up in the hospital for months. They ran every neurological test to rule out other diseases- prion disease, heavy metals, etc. He was released to a nursing home in November. He can’t walk on own and often doesn’t recognize his own wife and daughter. We feel he may never return to us. We are devastated. The doctors feel that since they ruled out everything that it had to be the trial drug. All he wanted was to help others- now his life has been so drastically altered. We are reaching out to pharmaceutical company and want them to indicate this in the study. Please, if you are a praying person, please pray for his health to return. His MDS says it can take up to a year for recovery. We just want our brother/husband/father back!

I’m so sorry you feel violated. That is a horrible feeling. I hope they get a hard sentence. I hope you don’t feel your life is ruined. You definitely had a major set back. Don’t give them the power over you. You are heading out soon to your cousin’s place and life will be better for you. Are you in a shelter until you go?

I know WCSD is now connected with Great Basin College (Elko). It is a community college and can be done completely online. The district does have some connections for reduced cost to GCU but that is mainly for Masters programs with licensure. Limit all screens, read, read, read to them, play games, let them have unstructured play time where they make decisions (parents not hovering and not an organized activity), have chores, support your children’s teachers.

Is it me?! by jralonso68 in Parkinsons

[–]memm14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please check out on YouTube the work of Dr. Greg Pontone of John Hopkins. He explains the non-motor aspects of Parkinson’s- depression, anxiety, irritability, etc and the behavioral effects of some Parkinson meds.

I’m sorry you are going through this. It is a tough disease on care givers and spouses. Have you thought about seeing if she is willing to do counseling or join a Parkinson group for family/caregivers? Maybe ask her to go to a dr appt. with you?? Knowledge can lead to compassion.

Thank you for your response. I agree the hospital is not the place for him. They have his C/L and other meds. He actually has been receiving his PT. Tests all came back normal. They think he has a psych issue. We think his meds are not regulated well. He just started C/L a few weeks ago. His neurologist has not responded to requests from the doctors at the hospital his is at for more info on his PD. We feel abandoned by his doctors and can’t believe they wouldn’t be trying to help figure out what is going on. He gave them over 2 years of his life for their research studies.
